Void Assassin

Can we talk about making Void Assassin playable as a sub class again?

I know it's currently "usable" but it doesn't really do the whole void thing, which ruins the whole point. Can we make it so you just don't get the magic damage reduction unless you're main class? Hell, even that and make it so you can store only 30 void energy rather than 60? Anything. Just letting it be partially usable rather than its current state.

Yeah, as it stands VA is basically non-functional while sub-classed due to losing Voidveil, which is a crucial part of nearly every skill it has, as without Void Energy they can't use Black Bolt's extra effects, Veil Off, Dark Shield (active), Blotch, Absorb Veil, and lose out on Veil Off's interaction with Cutthroat (that bypasses the need for a likely impossible to make Status Infliction check for the VA).

So they're left with Fray, Cutthroat (with the need to make an SI check), Void/Detogate, Dark Shield (passive, so 15-18% Dark Res), and Obscure. Advancing Flow is a super circumstantial passive Evasion skill, and loses half its effect w/o Void Energy to generate. Then you have its remaining Passives/Innates for a whopping +25% Crit Damage w/ Daggers, and +3 SKI/RES. (And Breakdown, but who in their right mind takes Cutthroat without Breakdown? A Lich VA I guess.)

Removing Voidveil altogether slashes a lot off the class, costing it more than any other Main-Class only ability. Fluer is a close second, but duelist can still be functional without it. Void Assassin loses most of their class's abilities not putting it into their main slot.

So something like the OP's suggestion to merely halve the amount of Void Energy you can have + remove the DR would allow most of those skills to function, just not at full effectiveness (Black Bolt/Veil Off/Absorb Veil).

I agree with this, make the Voidveil only go up to 30 if Subclass and make it so that Detogate is Main Class only. (Since all the issues that warranted this change was due to Void Assassins sitting back and Detogating large groups to death.) Simple and clean.

Void Assassin could also get a small 'beef up' on Cutthroat, too. Since it requires a lot of shit done to work, such as Critical Hit, actual Hit check and Status Infliction check.

Can the silence get changed to 3 rounds, and 4 rounds on Critical Hit? There's a lot of counterplay to this skill, and the main one is a classic one, hiding your back behind something. Besides, Heron Feather exists now, and it's quite OP when you can only silence people for 2 rounds, since it outright deletes the silence.
