This zombie didn't vanish until attacked again (and missing that attack, at that) after it was at 0 HP.
This is a well known bug - if the last target is killed between turns due to any kind of damage like Sear Tiles, Explosions, Burns, Poisons, Lanterns, Ingrain, etc players get one action before the batte properly ends. I'm assuming it's a problem with the base engine code, otherwise it would have been fixed by now.
Just to confirm, this is only for between round effects like status damage? Even if the monster is at 0 HP after taking the damage it will get a turn?
It doesn't get a turn, but it also doesn't disappear until another action happens.
This should be corrected.
