Re: Sword Discussion - Lolzytripd - 02-20-2017 Honestly I think a start would be bumping swords up to 115% or 120%, axes to 125 and spears down to 110% Re: Sword Discussion - Sawrock - 02-20-2017 Spears do not have three customization part slots. Swords do- and they have one that decreases durability for a major increase in critical. Re: Sword Discussion - Lolzytripd - 02-20-2017 well axes also suffer in that Regard Re: Sword Discussion - Autumn - 02-20-2017 I don't think bumping up axes with swords will help swords out when it comes to choice, like was mentioned in the OP, Axes have the deadliness talent (+10% to critical damage) and then spiked axehead as well for an additional 10% critical damage, they will always outclass swords even if 115% or 120% critical damage was implemented for swords, which is more than fine. Re: Sword Discussion - Lolzytripd - 02-20-2017 thats the only area axes outclass swords. Swords have a much better variety of skills thanks to duelist and its promotions that allow them to exceed axes. Spears however still exceed swords in both Critical, Accuracy and have an equal variety of skills in the duelist tree. Re: Sword Discussion - Autumn - 02-20-2017 Look, all I'm saying is that I think swords should be beefed up a bit in stats, namely in critical damage and maybe some scalings, I don't get how that translates to 'we should bump axes up to 125% critical damage' when they hit VA levels of critical damage bonuses already. Re: Sword Discussion - Lolzytripd - 02-20-2017 Thats axes without Weapon parts specifically for critting It feels Imprudent to just suggest balancing weapons Base stats in comparison to what other weapons achieve with components, without consideration that more weapon parts might be released in the future of the same vein for other weapons. If we bump base swords Crit to Base axes crit damage, without compensating a change to Base Axes, what point is there to use axes then. Axe's already pay for their Crit damage with Accuracy of buck shot at a 100 meters. Re: Sword Discussion - Rendar - 02-20-2017 Swords have, pretty sure, the most weapon skills in the game. By far. That is the bonus that they get over Axes and spears, currently. Whenever those two weapon types get more skills/classes that revolve entirely around them besides DH and more-or-less Soldier? Then I'd be fine with swords maybe getting a buff. However, as it stands, you're also not bringing up the state of Bows in terms of skills, how wonky half of the bows scaling are. How many stats an archer needs if they are an Arbalest... etc. This is a problem with some/most weapons, not just swords. Re: Sword Discussion - Autumn - 02-20-2017 Where did bows come from? What? Can we stick to the topic at hand please? Swords on their own are not fine, they get a lot of skills sure but that doesn't make them better it just means you can attack in about 3 or 4 more fancy ways instead of just using hanging. Re: Sword Discussion - MakeshiftWalrus - 02-20-2017 Berserker Shell is the reason we shouldn't even consider touching axe crit in any significant way. |
