RE: Lore Questions: October (2021) - Chugma - 11-02-2021 What exactly is the Grindylow? Is it just a sort of elemental ice construct? Is the big part on the front its face? Does it see with its eyes or through something akin to tremorsense? It looks like it has a sort of spine in the back, so is it vaguely skeletal in appearance? One day a Doriad simply steps out of the tree. 2) Not really. 3) They have a basic understanding of the world, but from what isn't known. 4) Not extremely. 5) They are simply born. Corruption can't be overwritten by anything. Generally, only humans can become corrupted - in normal circumstances God-touched races cannot be corrupted. Do they use magic mud like Chimera in their creation? 1) Yes, homunculi follow the same basic shell construction. 2) Generally, yes. It's hard to define an 'extent' - they can eat most things. No. (10-16-2021, 03:27 AM)chimeranyx Wrote: Can homunculi get sick? What about mechanations and doriads? 1) Homunculi and Doriad can get sick. Mechanations cannot. 2) Assume most that normal races can get. (10-27-2021, 08:44 AM)messaiyan Wrote: What the heck is a Barghest? Based on the mob model, it doesn't strike me as the traditional goblin dog but a spooky dog-masked spectre. There's nothing on them in the lore.txt so any other info about them would be nice, e.g. 1) Barghests are basically ghost dogs that hunt the living. 2) Generally they haunt forests at night if the forest is particularly haunted. 3) Animalistic. 4) Yes. When I eventually get back to working on the history pages, I'll detail this stuff, so please wait until then. But I'll try not to complicate while giving spoilers so people don't question what it is if they might not know it. From the Prequel No, SL1 lore doesn't have anything to do with SL2. Assuming it was strictly controlled and fully above board with official oversight. Probably not in Cellsvich, no. (11-02-2021, 07:32 AM)Chugma Wrote: What exactly is the Grindylow?
