Depending on the ability you have to purge select spirits or not (and whether bonus skill ranks are limited to your equipped classes), I'm worried this might lead to the meta being a bit heavy-handed on maxing posession and farming spirits for the +skill ones. What was the maximum rank on Posession going to be?

The maximum subpath rank for Possession is 5.

"Exxy" Wrote:Neat, looking forward to seeing the rework in the live game. Keep up to the good work Dev.

Just three late questions to close on before I'm done:

- Could we possibly see an extra Talent point to distribute every 5, 10 or 20 levels? Looking at it from a end-game character with all the LE perks for increased Talent Points, it -really- felt like stretching them. Although I wouldn't say I couldn't get all the ones I felt were necessary for that character it felt much more bare than it was before (which make sense, with how you spread out the perks they provide on a lot of pre-existing ones).

- Will Traits be next on the list?

1) I'm happy with the amount of talent points you get, so probably not. The new system is not meant to be like the old system where you could max almost every talent.
2) I don't know if they're next on the list but they are definitely on it.
3) There was no third question.

I derped and forgot to re-edit since the way I wrote it part-way through changed. Q_Q

Sorry for any confusion.

EDIT: Can we expect a Kaelensian-related psuedo-God to Pray to (something like "Ancestors" since that's literally the closest thing they have to one and covers all of them outside of Phenex which already have their own) or will they not be given one?

Detainment
1.5 SP per Rank
  • Take Prisoner - Grants access to the Capture skill, which attacks an enemy in 1 Range with penalties to hit and damage. If it successfully reduces the target to 0 HP, they are captured. You can have a maximum of SR * 1 prisoners at once.
  • Restrain - Grants access to the Grapple skill, which inflicts Immobilize on you and a target within 1 Range if successful. Success rate is equal to SR * 17%, plus 2% for every character level you exceed the target by.
  • Convert - Monsters can be sold to interested parties such as arena masters. However, this talent allows you to convert monsters you have captured into mercenaries by paying a small Murai fee to them. Success rate is equal to SR * 20%; upon failure, you must wait 3 in-game hours to renegotiate.
  • Seize - If prisoner space is available, there is a SR * 1% chance of automatically capturing defeated non_CPs after a battle, if the enemy's level is equal to or less than 1.25x of your level. (Rolled for each potential prisoner).

Here's a new skill for the War category, and one that ended up taking a long time due to the necessity of the new interface that came with it. Detainment lets you take prisoners, basically, by defeating monsters. These monster prisoners can then be sold to an arena master (IE, Tarson) for a decent amount of Murai, or you can convert them into mercenaries yourself, which will let them aid you in battle.

I could talk more in depth about it but I am pretty tired at the moment. There were two other planned talents, both occult ones, but in the interest of getting this up sooner, I think those will be worked on in the background, since a lot of the details aren't finalized for those two. They will be added at a later date, but hopefully not -much- later. For now, we'll do testing, and if we're suitably bug free by the weekend, we'll put this on live then.

Will Take Prisoner work on fellow players? If so--- I'm hyped.

I honestly just hope it doesn't work on players, that'd create uncomfortable situations really fast.

Taking player prisoners? Here comes the cat girls in chain collars and wearing nearly nothing acting like pet cats, and their favorite word is 'nya'.

That already happens. I've seen it. Esther was just kind of bemused about it, but whatevs.

You can use it on players and it will give a message saying they were captured. So, purely a roleplaying thing.

I'm not sure. I didn't have any plans to but I'm not opposed to it either.

Can we please not implement this by the friggin weekend? None of the bugs on the current server is fixed, there's still heaptons of lag and things broken.. and not to mention this build is still leaps and bounds away from being ready for actual proper testing. With the removal of Charisma and the like, certain things (shine knights) might just flat out be broken, etc.

So please, can we hold off for like.. another week, or two before you try cramming this to the live server? It's not going to be pretty for anyone involved otherwise.

Can we solve the issues on live before implementing an entire new buggy update? :?
