[QUE/BAL] Dark Water Buildup - Soapy - 06-04-2015

Dark Water lowers Faith to 0, dropping available Youkai slots down to 5. Is this intentional?

I'd say it's fine for Vials, but..

Black Bubble
  • is long range
  • is a large AoE
  • is dual element
  • can inflict silence
  • negates Blessed
  • negates Devotion
  • negates God Rod
  • basically negates Healing Discharge
  • and drops Summoners down to their first 5 Youkai.
.. This might be a little bit much for 25 FP.

I concur. Black Bubble is a little too stacked, so maybe remove the dark water component from it.

Re: [QUE/BAL] Dark Water Buildup - Sarinpa1 - 06-04-2015

Removing the only possible source avaible without crafting. Sounds delightful.
Rather tweak it to halve. Or, given how thread regarding youkai slots and modded faith develops, just leave it as it is, allowing modded faith to be a counter. (And you can always. You know. Walk out from the water.)
Removing it is hardly an answer.

You can just walk/warp out of the effect radius, so no, it doesn't really need a nerf.

Re: [QUE/BAL] Dark Water Buildup - MegaBlues - 06-04-2015

It's the fact that it deals damage, inflicts a highly debilitating status effect, and leaves behind a moderately debilitating tile effect. In a large area.

It doesn't need to do all three in one fell swoop, for 3M and 25 FP.

You can also 'just' use a Throatopener to cure the silence. This means spend 6M to undo all of what they did for 3M..

.. unless they used Etacof afterwards to completely remove a Mage's ability to fight back..

.. after dealing nearly as much damage as an Evoker spell..

.. and splitting the damage between two types so % Resistances are half as effective..

.. for each person affected by the long range AoE of the spell.

You know what it doesn't Negate? Sanctuary. You know what sanctuary negates? Effect tiles.

You're right about everything else, I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here.

I was talking about the anti-Faith field effect, which is justified when it's either blocked by Sanctuary or escaped easily enough. As for the rest of it....

You are not guaranteed to get silenced by Black Bubble, unless one side's heavily tilted towards it. Also, a spell that does 80% WIL scaling outdoing an Evoker's spell? You should be complaining about Priest's offensive spells, not Hexer's. They can threaten an Evoker's regular spell damage. Hexer can only truly one-up Evokers on secondary effects, especially when someone decides to use Darkness resistance.

On the other hand, if the damage is a bit much (Which I doubt), then less WIL scaling would be appropriate.

You're not guaranteed to proc Wraithguard, either - good Hexers get enough status infliction to beat down an Izabe install.

Oh, I will.

30% Darkness Resistance is a 15% reduction in damage to Hexer spells.
30% Fire Resistance is a 30% reduction in damage to Sear.

Sounds pretty fair considering Evokers get access to more elements, right?
Except you can't fight a Hexer as a mage - this spell removes your ability to fight back.

It's not about the damage being too high. It's the fact that it not only does 17 less damage than an 80 Will Evoker spell, but also cripples so many other things, in a long range, large AoE.

Re: [QUE/BAL] Dark Water Buildup - Rendar - 06-05-2015

Nerf Dark Bubble.

How to? Make it's damage shit. Make the "FUCK YOU" tile effect go away, or only happen to effect you on.. i dont know. the status effect tier? That way each round, someone extremely resilient can just go "I'm not affect by it this turn :o)"

Tada.

Oh also silence is bullshit from this class considering.
