Suggested on behalf of my friend:
Sometimes while RPing, two people can be typing long things at once that basically end up ignoring one another's emotes/speeches by sheer "oops" or someone can be unaware of whether someone is replying or AFK.
Some simple visual indicator of if someone is typing would be an appreciated convenience.

Yeah, this would be something nice to have. Although, I'd rather it not put overlays on top of other characters and hide them with its ugly self.

Unfortunately there's no feasible way to do this in BYOND that doesn't cause problems elsewhere. The best alternative I could think of would be to have a toggle button above the chat bar that you can click to toggle showing yourself as 'typing' or not.
