To put it simply Resistance doesn't seem to do anything at all in terms of magic defense.
1st tests: 80 Sanctity and 0 Resistance
Resist! 'Fashionable' Mage takes 295 Earth damage.
Resist! 'Fashionable' Mage takes 300 Fire damage.
'Fashionable' Mage takes 98 Ice damage.
2nd tests: 80 SAN and 80 Res
Resist! 'Fashionable' Mage takes 295 Earth damage.
Resist! 'Fashionable' Mage takes 300 Fire damage.
'Fashionable' Mage takes 98 Ice damage.
It literally does nothing and you can ask Dyst to confirm the numbers as it was her character that did the damage.
