Ice skate - Lolzytripd - 07-04-2016

No one uses ice skate because it costs 3m

could we reduce it to 1-2m at max rank since its basically ice shukuchi.

Re: Ice skate - Rendar - 07-04-2016

Iunno about you, but I use it at 3m. Even if it's because it's a hillarious gimmick.

If it turned into 1m though, it'd be prettttty nifty, especially since it already has a requirement in place that it requires ice tiles to be abundant.

I think it's fine as is. KD is always solid, and coupled with icicle spear you can literally skate across the entire map. People do in fact use it at 3m, myself included.

Re: Ice skate - Chaos - 07-04-2016

Unless we have/can include the ability to turn, I don't see why it shouldn't go as low as 1-2M.

Re: Ice skate - Autumn - 07-04-2016

1m movement has almost always caused issue in the past, if it had to be anything, 2m would have to lowest.

Re: Ice skate - Rendar - 07-04-2016

I mean. 1m movement that requires set up (and constantly degrades if the verglas isn't doing upkeep) is kind of okay.

Cranehop was bad simply because it was better than moving around, had a huge range, and made you airborne.

This moves you to the END of the line on your ice sheets, meaning you don't stop until there isn't a tile. I'd be fine with it at 1m as a test. If it proves to be OP, 2m.

Edit:

As another note, no one complains about one momentum movement when it involves Voidgate (Which requires about as much set up, if not less, and requires substantially less upkeep compared to ice skate).

So yeah, I'm actually completely fine with it, considering you can't stop at will and it has its own negatives.

I don't need to say anything else, 1m movement should not be a thing, winged serpent is already a problem as is.

Ice tiles are easy to create, void gates are not.

Re: Ice skate - Rendar - 07-05-2016

Ice tiles require upkeep (quite a bit of it, lets be real) of FP from someone.

Voidgates require 3M (just like creating any ice tiles), and while they don't deal damage, they allow for proper repositioning and allow for a huge network that can be messed with by yourself to give you infinite black bolt spam.

Ice tiles require the ice enchant (or badge), Miu, Libergrande, famiuga, or some of the summon janky stuff outside of Verglas (and Verglas is basically FP drain central if you want to make a good amount of ice tiles)

I see your point though. It's just that in most cases for verglas (who are almost exclusively auto-hit central less they build otherwise), won't ever really have a desire to crit something, which is why 2m is "iffy". It lets them do an attack.. skate... and then not really do anything with the rest of their momentum.

Re: Ice skate - Autumn - 07-05-2016

If a verglas sticks to verglas tree stuff, they should be able to combo off of 5m anyway with chimera style, infact it's even more useful to them because it also has Knockdown, you could crawling spikes from max range, ice skate into somebody and then face stomp them, with chimera style.

Or they could crawling spikes, cold front them into the ice point, and then ice skate into them for KD

So really, it being 2m doesn't hurt Verglas itself either, and allows combo-ability from other classes.

Re: Ice skate - Rendar - 07-05-2016

Yeah. That's a pretty good arguement, actually.

I'll be down for 2m and see how it pans out. Especially since it does synergize with it's own class.
