It seems as if you're able to put more points into a stat past 80, to a limit.
Not sure what this limit is, but the stat I did so in was Strength.

Can you give more details?
Racial base strength, Class, Aptitude bonus, Stamps, Traits, equipment, etc.
Everything that's increasing your Strength is important to know.
