On-hit status levels - KhalidtheGrey - 08-07-2016 So, as we're all probably aware, there are items that can apply a status effect (Gae Baed, Level 10 cursed wounds on hit, Aberration Spear, Level 15 poison on hit). These values are weak even at level 1 and just stop being at all relevant beyond that point. Can these scale on something? Like a percentage of damage dealt by the weapon? Or even a portion or all of user level? Re: On-hit status levels - Rendar - 08-07-2016 Quote:Abberation Spear This is the Abberation spear. 100% wpn scaling (75/25 str/luc). It deals on-hit lightning damage equal to half luck, and more-over, also gives level 5 poison on a crit. ...Not to mention it also increases nature spells by 10%. This is a very strong, if not a bit OP weapon. It gets extra damage instances every round, effectively ruining Cobra and Body of Isesip. Quote:Gae Bead This is the Gae Baed. 100% wpn scaling (30/70 str/gui). It could probably see a bit of a buff.. however it also stacks with itself and matador. Meaning you effectively give people HP interference if you poke them for long enough. It's not bad, but it's not SUPER OP MEGA AWESOME. Gae Baed needs an increase to have Curse Wound effect be more prevelant in the new meta.. I could see possibly 15 per hit, or if people really want stuff... Make it 2% HP max hp redux per hit. Re: On-hit status levels - KhalidtheGrey - 08-07-2016 Yeah it's kinda a really overloaded weapon. To be perfectly honest, I'd rather just get rid of the poison, it already wrecks Cobra and BoI just by touching them anyway. Making the poison significant would be... a bit much. 2 or 3 % or a % of damage on Gae baed (which should both be easy numbers to balance and keep balanced) sounds good. Because 10 or 15 level cursed wounds, even when you stack it up over a the maximum 3 turn duration, isn't a lot. 45 HP is pretty minimal. It may as well not be on the weapon. Something should be done about them either way. Re: On-hit status levels - Lolzytripd - 08-07-2016 I agree with this quite a few of the weapons out their throw out level 10-15 statuses that are just mediocre at endgame. Re: On-hit status levels - Autumn - 08-07-2016 I actually quite like the poison on abberation spear, it provides utility because it's physical damage, -1. Re: On-hit status levels - KhalidtheGrey - 08-07-2016 Did you read any of this other than 'may as well get rid of the poison because it's redundant and insignificant'? Re: On-hit status levels - Snake - 08-08-2016 poison above lv15 would make a lot of people cry salt. and yes, agree with Derg, 'Gae Beard' could get more sexy with a -2% max HP cursed wounds Re: On-hit status levels - KhalidtheGrey - 08-08-2016 Yeah I screwed up about typing the level 15, it's level five. It caps out at 15 damage, assuming you have 150 or more HP. Level 15 could max out at 45, which is actually pretty decent. Re: On-hit status levels - Autumn - 08-08-2016 It doesn't matter, abberation spear goes together well with Ghost, because poison will inflict claret call at the start of the round, this makes it so that my claret call doesn't actually run out, so yeah no, it doesn't do damage but the poison is nice for it's utility, there's no reason to get rid of it, nor buff it. The low damage is still tick damage that you'd otherwise not usually inflict, and if for some reason you're a poison build, you should just use a different weapon. Oh also, poison prevents them from getting up with die hard, so yes, I believe the poison is a really nice addition to the weapon, synergizes quite nicely. Re: On-hit status levels - KhalidtheGrey - 08-08-2016 Because of one or two niche uses? Okay, sure. Let's just go along with keeping things how one person likes them for their one neat trick with their build. 30 damage over two rounds is nothing by end game. Entirely negligible in PvP aside from keeping people dead (as if you need help or are even threatened by them) and getting claret call refreshed a little sooner. And a big fat nothing in PvE. |
