If the caster of explosion dies, the explosion does not deal damage.

Which explosion? The one used by monsters or the ones used by players (they are different). Either way, does it happen with player explosions?

Only the player explosion was tested, but maybe the same thing happens to monsters.
In case it needs to be more detailed-- if you die after casting Explosion (the mage spell), the spell does not go off next round. To my understanding the red rune just disappears.

Same thing happens to monsters too, it'll play the explosion animation but no damage will be done.
