Wings of Fire - MegaBlues - 10-11-2017

They can get around 75 Scaled Resistance at higher levels, with an extremely painful ranged autohit, high evade, and decent move.

Can Wings of Fire get a nerf? They make doing Fire dungeons an absolute pain.

Re: Wings of Fire - Lonestar - 10-11-2017

I think the solution for this is using Physical attacks instead. They have low Defense.

Re: Wings of Fire - Inconspicuous Kitty - 10-11-2017

I can agree that their resistance is... Very, very high, and I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe if at those higher levels it could hit 60 instead of 75, I'd be content with wings of fire. I've never had any issues with them otherwise, but I can agree that they have too much capacity to counter mages, with absurdly high res and the potential to evade if you don't lock into skill.

Personally, the only adjustment I can agree with is slightly lowering their resistance so they don't wall mages. I've never had a problem with these things otherwise.

Re: Wings of Fire - Snake - 10-12-2017

I think they'd be more fine if they did bigger Burn LV than fire damage, due to the absurd scaling on Immolate.

Re: Wings of Fire - Chaos - 10-12-2017

and i'm sure you would complain just as well if they were abnormal DEF/low RES

Sarcasm aside, I don't see an issue with Wings of Fire, considering that it boasts serious wind/water weaknesses and relies on one of the most easily-countered elements in the game. You also have the option of using physical damage.

Or using one of the many PvE items that people tend to overlook to get an advantage.

Or getting a physical powerhouse to help you clear house.

Really, there's enough options to not warrant a nerf on this mob.

Re: Wings of Fire - Snake - 10-12-2017

The only danger they present come from a skill that can't be silenced and does a relatively high damage compared to other monsters, while boasting a pseudo-immunity to any other types of magic damage due to their high RES. A higher burn LV and Immolate's Fire ATK% scaling cut by half will put those birds on their place, if the choice is 'nerf' them.

Personally, I don't think they need a nerf. And that doing anything to them would be a waste of time because. *JAZZ HANDS* It's PvE! Nobody cares about PvE! You don't even lose items anymore due to the talent! And guess what?! There's a RING that prevents item loss!

But, certain rare situations involving the amount in the field on Crazy dungeons can make them pretty absurd to fight alone and if you don't have PR-Hi Potions or is on the border of the battlefield, you'll get a big fat L.

I just recommend to not do Crazy dungeons alone. Or use LB.

Re: Wings of Fire - MegaBlues - 10-13-2017

They have the Move, Celerity, and Attack range to instantly fly to you and attack on the first round, without anything you can do about it. Unless you're a very specific kind of build, a Physical-damage magic tank, they're still a pain to deal with. There's no playing smart around them.

Re: Wings of Fire - Autumn - 10-13-2017

While they do have ludicrous amounts of scaled RES, I think making Immolate magic could help in creating strategies vs wings of fire.

Re: Wings of Fire - Grandpa - 10-13-2017

I don't think anything needs to be done at all. Also we don't need more spellthief DLC.

Re: Wings of Fire - Fern - 10-14-2017

I personally have never experienced difficulties with Wings of Fire, even as a mage. I don't see much reason to change it to be honest, but it's just my thoughts on it.
