Since the item belt update, you're not exactly able to keep multiple cleanse potions on the same belt without sacrificing your more important potion slots (Like PR His, sal volatiles)
Is it possible for Cleanse Potion to get buffed in a way? I think similar to wash away, it should purge 1 status effect, or reduce the duration of all negative status effects by 1 + Perfection rank/2 rounds. (Similar to how it is now, just with a perfection rank bonus from alchemy)
how does that sound?

That sounds pretty fair, considering it's a one-time use of an item belt slot. Especially when you consider how some classes have ways to knock off even 'incurable' statuses as much as they want (like the classic splash+negotiate combo on spellthief).
