Flash Step Punch (Shukuichi/Geldoran) - EenKogNeeto - 08-09-2020

I wasn't sure if this should be a suggestion or a balance thread but one person said balance in the dev chat so here it is, basically this is about Shukuichi's 'recent' changes - But more precisely the indirect change it had on Geldoran. Because of the change to be only three skill levels/three movement buff/whatever, we lost two full tiles off of geldoran. Making it must more difficult to space it properly while at the same time making it rarer to be able to use it at all in this way.

This /may/ have been done intentionally to distance it from just being a second hanging, but I really don't want to slot black knight. I enjoy my anime moment of punching someone then teleporting to them and punching them again to send them flying. Double geldoran was some of the most fun you could have playing a martial artist in this game. Its current range makes it very difficult to pull off unless you're basically already melee with someone.

So what would I want changed? Just make Geldorans range added by Shukuichi use Rank +1 or +2, Or whatever is needed to maintain its old scaling, you still need to level and use shukuichi for it, and you can still buff it with spirits to get that extra tile and make your own ghetto-hanging. Nothing changing except the range of a shukuichi geldoran back to how it used to be.

Yes, please; I would've made this thread if no one else did.

The change to Shukuchi made Shukuchi + Geldoren's range really pathetic and harder to use when it's a core part of any basic build involving fists. It's 4m to even use it this way, so it shouldn't be an issue to revert it to what it was before the change.

It costs 4m to use in this method so there's no reason it shouldn't be 5 range again, it wasn't busted before and required fleur to make the full use out of.

Yeah it has always been the "Worse" hanging (4m cost, more FP(since you use shukichi first), arguably worse effect since the def/res reduction ain't all that helpful with diminishing returns, the fear is nice though.) It shouldn't get its range gutted. Its also unusable now with Hand of the giants, which was just a fun combo, but you actually knock them out of Geldoren range now.


 Do not forget Light Tomahawk, it got gutted the same way and was already a terrible skill. 

The effective range of those skills got almost halved since they too had 6 range with spirit, like hanging.

I wanted to make a thread on this myself. I also wish for Shukuchi + Geldoren to have its old range, there's very little harm in giving it that and it would make building for fists like that more appealing.

Don't forget Light Tomahawk too, though. It also gets shafted in the same way as Geldoren. I'd like to see both get this same treatment.

To fix this, just make the global Shukuchi + Martial Artist Offensive Skills have a +2 base range, added to Rank.

Sounds like an oversight. The reason Shukuchi got brought down was the movement, not those interactions.

Just giving my +1 here too, this is long overdue. Current Shukuichi Geldoren feels VERY bad
