It might seem stupid and unnecessary, but it does a lot for immersion.

Well supporting this may seem stupid and unnecessary, but the logical part of my brain ultimately said "why not?" It shouldn't end up breaking anything, and every bit helps, so whatever helps deepen the experience.

I assume you're saying, 'put every other equipment category in there, even if there's no values to upgrade'?
