Stacking weights - Jay - 02-11-2015

I won't speak for anything else here (others are free to), but can the food items weigh a bit less?

At the moment, something like a one plain donut costs one encumbrance (no, not encumberance). http://i.imgur.com/XdlDJGq.png

I'm aware some people had a habit purchasing a hoard of cherry pies. Maybe tone it down a notch though, from 1 to 0.2 ?

And why not the ability to stack these in your inventory? http://i.imgur.com/9CtPP8Y.png is a bit unnecessary.

As much of a problem it can be, I don't see the need to change the weight value of food items.

On the other hand, if I recall correctly, stacking food items doesn't work because of how food is made in SL2. They all can have different qualities (regular, filling, five star) and different regeneration percentages, which is probably the reason they can't stack because the values can be highly different from each other.

I would definitely like food to weigh a bit less. My mages cry in dungeons when they need food but can't carry it (which is often).

Sounds like packrat would be a wise investment.

Honestly, if the effects are the same they should stack.

Everyone I know with low strength, including myself, invests into that talent. Carrying food is still troublesome when you should also have the right to carry some junk.

Agreed. I thought that went without saying.

I always get packrat, but the problem persists. Mages have valuables they carry too, and it takes a long time to get extra bank slots, in my experience. I would actually rather see item weight vary by type. As it stands a slice of pie weighs the same as "heavy" armor when it comes to lugging it around.

The latter makes sense, yes; but it's still pretty hard to get the exact same %s for HP and FP. I make food all the time and haven't seen much of them end up with the same values between two items (yes I mean the same food).

Also, it's not troublesome at all. I have 34 items of equipment (mostly junk that I'll end up selling when I stop being lazy) that I don't plan to use on one of my Mages, and about seven items of food in my inventory. Yes, I have r5 of the packrat talent; but even with all that, plus potions and such, I'm still not over encumbered. Why am I not having these problems when I'm in the same boat you guys are?

Because you're not in the same boat. Also, as Rockabye noted, it's a bit unreasonable to have equipment and food to weigh the same.

I don't see how we're not in the same boat when I generally carry a ton of loot, and food on me at all times and I'm not having trouble. I think you should just learn to manage your inventory better. A lot of the logic in this game doesn't make sense, it's still a game that has mechanics to make the system work.

Because I'm pretty sure books are much easier to carry around than swords or axes, but we're not bringing that up, huh?
