Ehryunes Family Crest
Theme:
[ Placeholder and workthingy for the Ehryunes family of Red-Tails ]
Important stuff so far established: - Was a large but widely unknown family of Red-Tails from Oniga. Were known in small communities for practicing taboo or highly forbidden magics to the general public, and gained the trust and discretion to continue said magics in silence behind the closed doors of their mansion.
- About 7-10 recorded generations of the Ehryunes family. The first 7-8 Used the mansion. 7-8 were present during the time Oniga & the continent of Gold were engulfed in sand.
- Following the loss of their mansion (As it was in fact in an area the sands had engulfed) they became nomadic people. Without a place away from Oniga to practice the Mystic art -- they were shunned and likely in danger to return or practice in safety. Thus, the family chose to become nomads who wandered the desert.
- Since the first generation of Ehryunes, it had been a practice to have an intricate family history tattooed to their right or left arm, depending on spell-caster preference. This tattoo recorded the history of each Mystic in the bloodline and would be slowly improved over time, as a new Mystic added a new family trade to it's list. In many ways, this was a lexicon the Ehryunes family could rely on to base their studies upon and improve. Each generation added a new spell, technique or learning from the world that benefited the next Mystic. Upon sealing this information into the tattoo - it became imbued with this knowledge. Once a tattoo was ritually applied to a new mystic - they would slowly come to recall this knowledge in what some might consider a dream.
- Daaj Ehryunes (Most Recent Mystic) specializes in talking and coming into contact with the spirit world. He is proficient in seeing/recognizing spirits/ghosts and trying to help them with their problems. For this reason, he often helps with exorcism requests over the LaPlace.Net -- and can often target problems in a different light to Priests or Magi who would offer to help.
- Each generation may learn from the last - but none of their teachings will be as proficient as the one who learned them. They will know of the teaching, but not be a master of it. This is usually due to a lack of general interest in the topic as they did not discover it. If a Mystic applied themselves to this end, it may be different. However, each of them follows a different path.
- 'Knowledge is Wisdom' is a powerful sentiment within the Ehryunes Clan. Each Ehryunes strives to learn through experience and understanding. A book is worth little to them, until they have read it and experienced the tale. Having the book itself means nothing to them. (metaphorically speaking)
- The family worships specifically Amiras as a focus. Since losing their home - they lost a shrine to the Goddess of Luck. As the younger generations have split off and scattered across the land - they usually create shrines to Amiras within their personal home. Burning incense and playing games of chance are considered ways they show appreciation to their Goddess.
- A common member of the Ehryunes clan is a Rogue, Archer or Kensei. These classes reflect their love for chance and adventure. A Mystic is different from the normal members of the family because he is both restrained by duty and honor to become the next of his lineage. There have been some cases of a Mystic resenting this path - but most have overcome this triviality.
