Boss HP - Ranylyn - 03-17-2015

This screenshot was taken after my weapon broke. Sitting on a Mana Crystal as a class that can heal, which is the only reason I survived that long.

TL;DR: Find me a non-twinked, non LE'd Level 20-ish character who can do enough damage/ soak enough to down that thing before they die, unless the terrain is in their favor like it was with me. Seriously. That is absolutely insane. 60 Vit at level 23. SIXTY. Look at that screenshot. Just look at it. My hardest hitting attack (My Flamberg; Bonder/MA, literally just hit 20, no good attack skills yet) did 19 damage. And it broke right before I took this screenshot.

"Oh, but the Winged Guardian has like 1000 HP!" Yes, and? Most people are either a higher level or in a party when they go fight that. This is a level 18 BDP.

Re: Boss HP - Rendar - 03-17-2015

534 HP at level 23 fora boss is kind of ridiculous, especially considering you have to tank the bosses damage or suffer death, no dodging to be given since RAMPAGE

Re: Boss HP - Blissey - 03-17-2015

Maybe it'd be best to deplete the boss monster HP again. . .Or at least for the Jammer Omega and the Gigarex; if I recall correctly it too has massive HP.

Just pointing out, Gigas Rex doesn't get allies to help it in battle (yet), so yeah.

True, but in a crazy, there's two Gigas. Every other boss just has more reinforcements.

Then how is that much different? Two Gigas despite having more HP, still get only 6M. Multiple enemies can dish out more damage because they have more actions per turn. Gigas are fine.

Re: Boss HP - Zakizo - 03-17-2015

I feel boss VIT should only start scaling up after level 30 at the earliest. Currently as a non-LE'd lowbie it's an extreme chore just to clear a floor, let alone defeat the boss. This isn't just a boss problem. Stepping into even low-leveled dungeons with a newbie weapon can easily get you killed if you walk into a Spatial, or something just/almost as nasty. If your class is incapable of healing, you could find yourself running to an inn (that you really can't afford) after every fight.

Re: Boss HP - Neus - 03-18-2015

Well, on the one hand, I could see toning down the Omega's VIT growth, since it is extremely high. On the other hand, you're lower level than the boss and trying to solo it with, by your own admission, very few good attack skills. This boss would probably be no big deal if you had 2 or 3 other people with you.

People seem to forget / not care that this game is based off teamwork (and I don't mean alts partying with each other).

People seem to forget that all anyone does in this game is PVP and sit with their backs to the Arena wall. Good luck finding a low level party, everyone just leeches. Or the RP in the party you do miraculously manage to find gives you a headache because of the lack of grammar/capital letters/etc. And that's assuming they stick around to actually end their turns, instead of just going AFK and making everyone suffer through waiting for their turns to expire (this happens in at least 2/3 of my parties, no joke.) Point being, like it or not, unless you get someone to just powergrind you or specifically play with friends, you're basically solo.

Partying isn't always an option in a small community like this. It's just a simple fact about the size of the playerbase.

Furthermore:

This just happened. The reason it only took me 13 turns to clear this boss fight was because of the ritual sword glitch and getting clones of my youkai out (I dismissed them when things got too ridiculous, but I couldn't afford to waste turns dismissing them every time I leeched FP with Ritual Sword, you know?) This was also with liberal Riagri spam, and a single bonded Youkai at level 31 and 100% Will growth.

If you wanted to compare my chracter's stats to the boss's, the character is level 36, and here are the stats. Needless to say, this character is built completely for mixed offense, and my issue is not usually how hard something is to kill, but rather how many hits I can afford to take before I need to heal.

Sure, I think a level 60 boss having 400 HP is too low. But I also think a level 20 boss having 500/ level 30 boss having 700 is far too high. It would be one thing if the Jammer lacked offensive heft or something, but it hits surprisingly hard with a decent crit chance, as well as having rampage (As do most bosses, to be fair) so you can't just run around kiting it. Pretty much the only advantage is that the lack of attack skills means it gets fewer attacks on you in a stylish.
