If you have an enemy two spaces away from you and you want to use Multifront (the spear's special attack), you'll aim it at the enemy two spaces away such as:

x[u]x
xxx
x[e]x

Instead of defaulting to:

x[x]x
xux
x[x]x
xex

(u = you, x = space, e = enemy, [] = range of attack)

You can only default to it, can't actually move to something like that any other way.
