I hereby name this new stat-system, Devourer of Dark Souls-- *shot*

Sucky jokes aside, god damn, bearing this hype is killing me slowly but eeehhh! Superb 5-star waiting to have muh chars' stats fixed the way I ever wanted. At last, the death of #Koonieluck

Kameron mentioned it a bit, but what will occur with the LE system? Since it currently gives a 5% increase to a stat for those particular LE bonuses, what will become of those? What about character who have several LEs under their belt?

Changes have always been carried over to existing characters where possible in the past if memory serves correctly, but I'm curious about that too. Some confirmation would be nice. I doubt it'll be a huge issue even if they don't, since the stat gap will be significantly less severe regardless of LE.

Agreed. It'll be nice to have things a bit less reliant on that extra 5% boosts.

Then again, for most of my designs, I'm awful no matter what I do, so having the ability to put stats how I want them will be a tremendous boon without the guesswork and trial-and-error.

Thought I'd provide an update on the progress and updated the list; we're moving along. Currently I'm working on the races stuff; all I have to do on that front are the Serpentkind and Other races. Once those are done, I'll go through the weapons and give them scaling, and at that point, I'll probably put up the beta server for testing. During this time I'll work on the remaining stuff while people test the system and see how everything interacts and what bugs there are.

What set me back a day or so was a performance issue with gstat that I (think) I've resolved. Either way, I'll post again when I'm ready to put up the beta server. As for an ETA, perhaps tomorrow or the day after. Setting up the weapon scaling isn't very difficult, so that will only be a matter of figuring out what they should be. Either way, I won't let it take up too much time.

After everything is done we'll put it on live and everyone can have fun. As for what's after that, not 100% sure but I will probably fall back on the stuff I've been working on in the background and get it out there finally. Maybe I'll peek at the donation items thread and see what ideas are there and add some, since donations the past month or so have been lighter than usual (though understandable since updates have been taking longer to get out). If you have any ideas for what you donation items, feel free to post them for when I go through it.

I imagine people are going to build their characters in a dark souls kind of way where you min max your stats to get the most out of the item scaling of the weapons and armor you will use, and the skills you can use them with.

That happens already though.

I'm going to take it you've never played DS, aqua. This system lets you twink with every little % and dmg point. Softcaps, diminishing returns, etc.

Kind of like how 50 defense currently is p. decent, but 12 is nearly marginally worthless. This way lets you tweak it entirely where maybe that 12 defense is so worthless, you can throw it in your skill instead. (etc).
