Considering the stat bonus from Installing is now only +1. It's just not that good unless you really need the youkai's second skill or second passive (Or have a single bonded youkai.) There's generally more drawbacks to installing than benefits in PVP, since it also means increased succeptibility to several things. Mythslayer users have become more common since the GR due to their scaling, for example, and a lot of passives gained through install also confer a weakness in exchange for the benefit - such as how Asrai resists water but is weak to fire.

While the whole "add half racials instead of replacing racials" idea would take install back in the direction that made everyone feel it was overbearing, install is honestly pretty bad right now; needing to put extra points in Faith/Aptitude/etc basically negates the pitifully tiny stat boosts from affinity. This means you're just spending 3M and 10FP to get access to another skill for a few turns - and it's usually not even an especially useful one. Some exceptions exist, of course, such as Wawa and Byakko unless you have a Lion Shield (Heck, anyone who gets close to the enemy has very little reason to NOT install Wawa) but for the most part, they're not particularly useful.

I'd be in favor of following that thought proccess, at least, even if we need to change it from half youkai stats to 1/3 or whatnot, depending on how it ends up being in practice.
