Oh, the thread actually got bumped after a year. That seems unnecessary, a lot of this no longer applies now. Though...

I completely agree that the notion of people, or one person, completely flipping the script and changing their opinions about another group of people (or, even just, one person!) based on what others repeatedly tell them would be a terrible thing.

Imagine if the community was like that... *Shiver!*

In any case, it's nice to see that the thing was actually read at all, and that at least 'something' has changed since then. Maybe we should lock it or archive it?

Truly, I'm just as surprised as you are.
