As stated in the OP, the 'optimized' way so far of playing Aquamancer is avoiding spells that consume crests as much as you can outside of Call Storm if you want to lean into the supportive aspects of the class more. Crest Break is such a good passive so losing 9 crest LV after you've achieved it feels really bad. A crest use toggle as mentioned in the post above me would go a long way.
