Blinding Lights (Blind thread)
#1
Blind is too wild right now, allowing people who deck out 50% DR to now hit Glancing Blows and in some cases, full Evade things.

Requesting it to grant a 3 round status immunity after the effect fades.

If this is not appealing a solution, at least make it so Kaminah Robes cap someone's Hit at 90% or whatever. Pls, just 'something' to counter it that's not forcing us to go furry...

Temp Immunity after like the rest of serious status effects would be nice, sure.

honestly, fuck blind, just make it a hit debuff again, a normal, comparative hit debuff. like -50 hit. -25 hit with blind fighting, reduced by golden eyes further.

Blind is fine. Just make AoEs ignore it. Boom. Problem solved. And before you say 'BUT KAZ THAT MAKES WIZARD 2 STORNG' - So what. There's multiclassing in this game for a reason and I'm reasonably sure that every single class has at least one AoE attack option. Sure it might mean that people who build for nothing but basic attacks need to build a little FP, but- shocker- hitting something for expensive is better than not hitting it at all.

But Kaz, evasion ignoring skills are bullshit, and this literally solves nothing and just rail roads you into spamming the same move over and over again.

Considering some people have builds that revolve around applying it over and over without much of a penalty if at all, blind immunity would be a good idea.

I didn't know 'Counterplay' was bullshit. The entire purpose of the changes were to encourage build diversity. If you put all your eggs in one basket and get countered by one thing, that's a result of the new system working. That's like a pre-change Hyattr complaining that they were 100% wind weak despite building SAN. If you build nothing but Dodge and get mollywopped by someone who has the counter to your build, Congratulations: Everything is working as intended.

Dodge gets counterplay in the form of Evasion ignore. It's a nessessity because there's no parity on Hit/Eva. There's plenty of instances of defense ignoring damage (If those aren't functioning then that's a problem in and of itself) and there's an entire subset of races that are just immune to blind. By this logic, Clumsy should have an immunity clause or not exist because it turns off Boxer. Just like Silence was more or less removed from the game because it de-activated a full half of the class list*

*It didn't.

One of the main offenders why the "Stat diversity" change is even a thing is because many classes could entirely ignore stats, because they can just spam Status Inflictions/Evasion ignoring moves over and over again while building the best possible defense with the highest possible damage at the same time.

That? Is not counterplay. Its railroading you all into the same builds cause its vasty superior than anything else.

I'm very much for a 3 round immunity. Blind immunity afterwards should be a thing. The same as pretty much every other status that can overwhelm an opponent when spammed. There's not much else to say on this as it's pretty self explanatory and everyone else already explained the reasons why.
