As far as I remember, Ninjazzz had an issue of all their things dissapearing because the stairs were placed at a "wrong place" as Neus called it.
I'd focus maybe on that.

One set is off to the side on the right (not against the border) and the other is directly in the center north, against the border. They both lead down. They work fine if you don't go in as a party.

That... wasn't remotely what happened at all. Probably shouldn't bring up things if you don't know the details. It only confuses people.
