Probably about half and halfish.

Maybe I let this escape my mind, but are we allowed to suggest for a few more to put all races on even grounds? Or after you're done with your planned ones you'll be busy with something else?

Also, which from the old traits will be removed? This is so I can preemptively draw whatever will stay. (For example, I'm expecting stuff like Blind Fighting and On Guard to stay, so I already drew them, and not Tactician)

Wouldnt your suggestion cut away at originality snake?

Re: Trait Rework - Chaos - 12-12-2018

The new Traits have done the vast majority of races well. In fact, there are far more racial traits than anything else so far, which makes me rather concerned for how many general traits will be available. Especially if literally every Trait present before this rework is getting thrown out the window when its all said and done.

Re: Trait Rework - Sawrock - 12-12-2018

An idea (only if Dev likes it, of course)- could we have a monthly trait suggestion thread, and Dev picks the trait of the month he likes best to add it to the game? That way, we could get more variety and more general traits.

Re: Trait Rework - WaifuApple - 12-12-2018

I think it should really end up being more than one a month. The amount of traits we've seen so far probably nowhere near covers the gap, so I feel an idea like that should herald like 3-4 favourites a month, if enough are suggested, at least probably until the problem Chaos identified is covered.

Please give Mechanations something more than gimping themselves by removing equipment for lacklustre returns. The Agile Boosters were a really cool addition and more in-line with traits that are FUN.

bare fist replacers are fine, so long as they turn out to be -good- and competitive with ENCHANTED FULLY UPGRADED with weapon parts

Also i think you should replace +potential xp in sentimentality, because unless you farm battles in jammer cave, youll be atleast 50% done by the time you get to it

Re: Trait Rework - Autumn - 12-19-2018

I'm actually still a little concerned over stat traits currently, right now they exist to pad out traits in a way where in having 21 to 24 points doesn't mean you're left grabbing the traits that are un-necessary, not useful or ill-fitting to your character, we're approaching the end here and its looking like there's too many traits spread across racially than there is generally, some races even have to approach upon certain niches with these traits (Hyattrs going specifically for fire with SAN for Disaster Realized line, etc.) so the characters that wouldn't use those niches may as well be humans with their left over trait points.

But I get that the current stat traits can be considered boring, they're ultimately there to pad out a build and make statting up a lot easier, and what not with Exceptional WIL and Exceptional Health getting removed as well, we're losing a massive influx of stats, I'm talking 24-30's worth of stat points to each character, this is gonna be huge and some builds just straight won't work anymore, while the current characters who have an influx of stats that just straight don't even need them (See: Any Hexer/Demon Hunter or Void Mage build) will be the only ones to thrive after stat trait's removal.

To sum it up, stat traits may be boring, but they fulfill a purpose currently, and thats padding out trait points so that no one can really complain there's not enough traits to go around to every race, but also to make certain builds easier for people to craft at the cost of their versatility trait wise.

I suppose a way to make them a little less boring would be to let them add +1 to their respective stat caps, past the racial base similar to aspects, but please if you can, keep them in some manner, otherwise characters might just end up stuck in a hole soon without a pick up, like an SPL increase, a very bland meta where you cannot do anything with huge stat bumps like astral belt.

Re: Trait Rework - Noxid - 12-19-2018

The problem with the stat traits right now in my opinion is they are non optional. You have to get them or your build is gonna suck. This wouldn't be that much of a problem if it wasn't for the fact this sucks up traits points that you might spend on more rp or flavourful traits. I don't think giving them an increase to the soft cap would make them more fun it would only serve to make them stronger. Not that I have an opinion either way about having them buffed like that.

Now I've not taken the time to figure out the math and how much of a major impact it will have on builds but if they do have to stay each stat could just have its traits rolled into 1 trait (That gives +3 to its respective stat) lowering the cost so you can spend the points on something more interesting.

Re: Trait Rework - Lolzytripd - 12-19-2018

I would honestly rather see traits that severely " unfucked " diminishing returns for a stat.

still think it's a horrible concept that makes tanking too effective
