Lore Questions: December (2015)
#11
Here's some late stuff!

Quote:Cladis Mortem is typically a curse, and it can come from a variety of sources, but none that are really influenced by mortals aside from the lich ritual.
Can we hear a few of them?

What are Cladis Mortem undead like, aside from Liches? Are they just the typical cold zombies, but sentient? Are they affected by Holy things, since Liches aren't?

Do they have to 'do' anything to survive, like feeding on focus/brains/whatever, or do they just exist on their own?

This one goes for Null too, how can they be 'killed'? Do we just smash the brain, or is there something more to it?

This one might as well go for Liches too, how are they affected by healing magic?

Since these haven't been answered yet, I'll throw in one late question here.

How long would it take on average to travel to other continents with no portal available? I assume you would need to go by boat if they aren't connected by land, so how long would it take to make a trip to the currently inaccessible lands?

Does the emperor of Sigrogana possess the original Kigal?

Maybe.

-What real world currency is Murai closest too? I usually compare it to Yen, but...
-Can you use magic to physically turn into something, like wind, to move yourself around as an experienced Mage?
-Can an Oracle still see the future if they no longer have eyes? I assume the power isn't really dependent on their eyes, but it's nice to make sure.
-Is it possible for humans to mutate (whether it be from radiation, scientific madness, etc.), even if it's at the cost of fragility or a shorter lifespan?

1) They regen limbs except those lost to void poisoning.
2) In what sense? This page may be more helpful; http://sl2.wikia.com/wiki/Mura
3) No.
4) They could, yes. The visions are supernatural and not things they perceive with actual sight.
5) You'd have to be more specific. Maybe? Probably unlikely in SL2 though.

-What's the absolute zenith of regenerative qualities a Glykin may possess?

-Is it possible for a Glykin to be born with red blood, but still possess regenerative abilities and immunity to poisons and disease?

-Beyond the Youkai currently represented in-game, are there more out there you can contract in-characterly?

-How likely are Kaelensians to be born without golden eyes naturally, if their parents are both full Kaelensians themselves? And does not having specifically golden eyes alter their passive immunity to becoming blind?

-When wandering around the world of the living, does Reapers blend in by using ordinary clothes? Or do they all wear some kind of standard clothes?

-How aware of the Reapers are the Geistritters? Do they interact with them during their work at all?

-Speaking of the Geistritters, is there a branch of them in Sigrogana?

-How much authority do they normally have in other areas than Karaten?

-You've mentioned the Black Wind being wind from the Void, but in so little doses that it didn't hurt anyone usually. How exactly does it empower the Black Knights?

1) Above average.
2) Naturally? What they have innately.
3) You can only contract what you can contract in-game. Needless to say, more Youkai will be added down the line.
4) 0%. All Kaelensia have golden eyes. If they don't, they aren't a Kaelensia.
5) They usually just wear what they wear at their actual homes, which isn't too different from what normal people wear. The main difference is that Reapers often sew bones into the clothes they wear.
6) Vaguely. Most Reapers don't get out much, but more experienced ones might be.
7) The Geistritter are a special organization in Karaten, so no. They may operate in Sigrogana at times but they're not like the postal service.
8) As much as they're given.
9) You'll have to rephrase this question or ask something more specific. There's a few different ways this could be read and I don't want to guess.

How strong is a mage with, let's say, 60+ base WIL? Or just 60 base WIL? How much control do they have over their magic?

This is more an issue of how you want to roleplay than stats. Obviously a mage with high base will is very powerful in some sense. How you choose to represent that IC is up to you.

I guess it could be, but it's more like focus given form. In this case, a physical crystal.

""]Can we have a map of the world, so people have an idea of distance between places that haven't been added yet? Like, for example, how far northeast -is- Alstalsia from Sigrogana? How large is the world itself? Things like that.

In the same vein of questions, we know of at least one Dark Zone that's evidently out at sea. Is it noticeable at all, or are they just invisible/undetectable until you're in it?

Are Dark Zones capable of moving, or are they static locations?

Are more Dark Zones being created?

1) At some point, though you can use the world map for now. Not that far, really. Maybe about a hundred miles. Large enough, but no one knows for sure. The Great Six is all we know about, but there's also Mersales out there... somewhere. And you can't currently make, for example, a westward voyage from Alstalsia and end up on Sigrogana. The known world could, in fact, be a very small piece of the planet, for all we know.
2) It's pretty noticeable when you're out at sea, because the entire thing is covered in a sphere of thick dark air.
3) They are static locations.
4) Who knows?

Not really a question for the topic. Sounds like you're trying to get me to give my opinion on your or someone else's character concept, which would be that Mystic Eyes of Death Perception don't exist in SL2.

-In this world of Technology and Magic, is there Airships? Any Airships varying from Sid's airship, to a literal boat with a giant balloon carrying it aloft, to even a literal boat being held up by some sort of magical objects.

-EDIT: Is it possible to buy out an entire industry, or set one up, and if so, how much would it cost? For example: Fishing.

1) There are rumors of flying devices and metal eagles and whatnot but not in any common or recommended capacity. Maybe your airship dreams will come true someday.
2) For a given region/town? Maybe, and I have no idea. The entire industry everywhere in the world? Nope.

""]-What are the differences between Haunting and Blink?

-What is exactly the 'Void Pollution' from Black Bolt? (Void substance? Dirt from it's ground?) Does it degrade the environment permanently?

-Natural disasters ever happens around the world? Is there a place which they're almost constant?

-Machines can be made and deployed by Engineers. Can smaller, portable machines be crafted too/exist? (I.E Old sound devices like a cassette player.)

[strike]-What in the heavens is Iahsus?[/strike] (Where exactly is it located? After the moon? Before the moon? Is it really a 'star' or another satellite?)

1) One uses the void, the other doesn't.
2) It's mainly scattered remnants of void energy. It disappears naturally after it absorbs enough focus.
3) Natural disasters happen everywhere. Alstalsia has more earthquakes than most places but it's hardly a constant.
4) Cassettes sound a little too advanced for SL2, sorry.
5) http://sl2.wikia.com/wiki/Iahsus

1) Some artifacts have extremely powerful curses that can inflict the condition on mortals. Mind you, talking real artifacts here, not anything like 10*s.
2) It's a varied condition that can describe a wide range of supernatural entities. Ghosts would be one example, but they could also be living skeletons or other things. Incidentally, this and the above answer might have some relation to that family that we haven't met quite yet.
3) It depends, again. Cladis Mortem Null undead usually have to find their focus elsewhere, but Cladis Mortem is rather different. Some can generate it on their own or havea low enough 'maintenance' cost that they can manage without (ghosts for example).
4) Destroying the body is usually enough. Otherwise, destroying it enough to where they can't get any more focus will 'eventually' kill them.
5) There's no 'healing = damage' thing like in SL1. Healing magic is just much less effective on them.

Probably not more than a week, since there exists ways to manipulate/control the wind, thanks to magic. Ship is still a relatively popular method of travel because a lot of people are somewhat wary of portals, don't want to be 'tracked', or have cargo that has to be delivered.
