Focus

Focus is energy that exists within living beings. Focus is the conduit which measures the output of magical feats or skillful, manual feats. Focus can be found in virtually all living things, especially mortals, monsters, Gods, and even certain artificial beings -- such as Mechanations and Homunculi. Focus can also be found in more natural or unnatural structures and environments, such as the magma which flows beneath Sigrogana -- known as the Salamander Structure, which is said to be the blood of the Original Fire Elemental, Nairyf.

Functions

Focus is usually found in more abundance in mortals with blood -- which makes them prime targets for beings such as Vampires, or those who drain others for their Focus. Focus itself is not generally tangible, nor is it a liquid, but it can be transferred from container to container -- such as migrating Focus from the body, which harbors liquid, to another container with a liquid, such as Blue Potions (which are used to help restore Focus).

Focus may be stored in objects, to a point. Depending on the material and the object itself there are limits to how much Focus it could hold, but things like Focus Rings are made using a similar process.

Although Focus is generally found in blood, certain exceptions do exist. Mechanation, as an example, are able to store and use Focus due to the organic Llarian Scar within their head. Focus can also be found in Gods because, although their blood may not always be 'red' or traditional like mortals, they are divine beasts with a predisposition to Focus. An example of this would be Nairyf's blood harboring Focus, even in death. Another example would also be the golden blood of Glycon flowing through the veins of Glykin -- although not red in color, Focus still persists within it.

Every being has a maximum capacity for Focus. Once that capacity is reached, they cannot store any more Focus. Focus also measures the general energy levels of a being, so it is suffice to say that losing or gaining Focus or having little to no Focus contributes to the mental and physical stamina of someone, whether negatively or positively (more Focus means one could do more, less Focus means one could do less, and having little to no Focus can mean one has no constitution to begin with to accomplish most simple feats).

Ki

Ki and Focus are similar yet fundamentally different. As opposed to most living beings having the ability to manifest and harness their Focus, Ki requires discipline and training to hone. Ki is far more potent and spiritual compared to Focus due to this, which is why Ki is not readily manifested by any being who would will it.
