  [v2.44] Whacky Snowfall
Posted by: Autumn - 05-25-2021, 12:26 AM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (6)

Snowfall seems to inexplicably be inactive randomly after summoning Snow Crow, when a battle ends I always have the chance of Snowfall never activating until I relog after that.

Here are the methods in which I've attempted to find the source of the issue:

-Summon Snow Crow, end battle prematurely
-Summon Snow Crow, have it die and then revive it at the inn

None of these work in replicating the issue, I am very much unable to find out the reason why Snowfall just inexplicably stops working sometimes, but its very important to me that it does work (It serves as my Verglas' opener.)

Here's some more useful information that might help:

-The Snow Crow is most definitely considered active, it summons as normal and uses its own snowshoes correctly.
-My Snow Crow is regalia'd and renamed.
-Every time it has occurred has been Snow Crow lives through a battle, whether it finishes normally or I leave battle prematurely.
-I am a bonder with Contract Tres.
-Sporps.slot2

I wish I could provide a definite legitimate and replica-table reason why this was happening, all I know is that I can fix it by relogging.

  Reword/rework Magic Gunner's One-Hit Wonder
Posted by: Raydon1206 - 05-24-2021, 04:14 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (5)

A short and simple suggestion, as it stands One-Hit wonder doesn't exactly do what is advertised. What it states it does is as follows: Increased power with Shotgun-type weapons based on rank: Rank 1 = +5 Power (and that's it, there isn't a showing for ranks 2-5 for whatever reason, not that it's entirely needed).

The problem with this is well.. that it's incredibly misleading. It doesn't actually increase your shotgun's power, as I've tested with numerous things such as the Magical Nova's Spelledge, Nitrogen Drop from Demon Hunter, and Magical Nova's Potential Skill. What it actually  does is add 5 damage per rank to your basic attacks. While not awful, it's not what is advertised on the tin at all.

I'd like to propose the innate passive be reworded to reflect what it currently does, or reworked to actually increase power as it states on the tin. That's all.

[v2.45] Evasion Reductions not adding up Properly
Posted by: Raydon1206 - 05-23-2021, 10:00 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (2)

So to preface this is.. an incredibly niche thing that I just happened to find cause I was testing to see what the highest possible evasion damage reduction is.

The actual bug is how In-fighter Gi is stacking with Ice Point Greaves for evasion damage reduction. Now Unless I'm wrong with how the item works, it turns the normal 15% damage reduction of light armor for evasion into 15+19(UL)= 34% instead which, coupled with Ice Point Greaves's additional 15%, should add up to a reduction of 49%.

The problem is that it doesn't become 49% reduction, it becomes 41%. Here are some calculations.

In these tests a level 60 Grindylow was used for a consistent damage, which is 219 Ice magical.

With just a normal evasion wearing an Infighter Gi, we only take 145 from 219. The calculation to get there is 219 - 34% = 144.54, which is always rounded up. So far so good.

Now in this example we have Infighter Gi + Ice Point Greaves. We end up taking 130 from 219. The calculation to get there ends up being 219 - 41% = 129.31, again sl2 rounds up. There is.. a problem with this. Infighter Gi's 34% added to Ice Point Greaves 15% should give us a calculation of 219 - 49% = 111.69. For some reason it isn't here. So it's not being added additionally.. is it being added multiplicitvely then? Well.. also no (unless my math is garbage), in that case it would be 34%*15%= 39.1% Which of course.. is close to 41% but not quite there.

I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but I figured it might be a bug and have posted it thusly.

Eleanor - Age and Height request.
Posted by: Spadius - 05-23-2021, 09:11 PM - Forum: Approved Characters - Replies (3)

Applicable BYOND Key - Sneker

Character Name - Eleanor (Surname still being decided)

Request Type - Young age and lowered height for a child character (Age: 6, Height: 5'0" (Naga Height) )

Request Details -  I am applying for the soon-to-be child of Elefred and Meri. I have permission from both parties and I'm filling this out, in turn, for the character's existence. The purpose, of course, is to offer the two some more development, as well as offer myself some slice of life RP.

Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) - I'm making this request as I was given permission and asked if I wanted to play as the child in question.  I am filling this out by the guidelines that require me to do so, as well as following the procedures.  I also plan to follow the rules and guidelines to a "T".

Roleplay & Lore supporting your request - Regarding the roleplay and lore, the parents in question have tried and succeeded in having a baby.  The character in itself is not yet "born", but they will be once things are concluded in their RP.  However, there are signs that the child will exist in the near future, within a reasonable time frame of the application. This request is being made to fulfill the demand and requirement for the child to fully exist when the time comes.

The fortress has six-meter concrete walls half that size in thickness. It is rumored that because it is a fairly simple structure for its function, it has underground floors on the hill where it is located. [Image: logo-footer-kaleido-e1e7a09f241f4fc02fda...e377ce.svg]

Becoming part of the Red Snakes is a process that can either be done ig, or can be specified in backstory, for the case of new characters who already want to belong to the institution. If you want to join, please contact Huby#5254 (Discord), or if you see the character Aurora Clersen in game, talk about it with her.

 Is there any restriction?

[Image: logo-footer-kaleido-e1e7a09f241f4fc02fda...e377ce.svg]

There aren't many restrictions on making a character that already belongs to our organization or joining it with an existing character. The main one is in case you consider being an infiltrator inside the guild. For this there are some restrictions. In any case, please message us on Discord before you create any character inside Red Snakes or if you plan to join.

What are the ideals? Can any character take part?

[Image: logo-footer-kaleido-e1e7a09f241f4fc02fda...e377ce.svg]

 - The basics about the Red Snakes ideals are equality, strength, training and development. If your character does not agree with any of these principles, then it is worth rethinking whether you really want to be a part of it. But if they agree with at least one of them, then it is worth considering whether they want to represent an organization that has in its banner all the other ideals mentioned.

  Aptitude Tweaking
Posted by: Autumn - 05-22-2021, 05:14 PM - Forum: Balance Fu - Replies (4)

Currently, Aptitude's stats do not count towards bases, I have noticed this leaves confusion at times when saving up for particular traits, would it be possible to have it so that traits read into your aptitude's bonus stats somehow as well? So if I want Lovely Face I would only need to be sitting at 15 GUI with Aptitude and not around 23-25.

There is also a degree of merit to allowing Aptitude to count as a base stat similar to histories/starsigns, as that will also make it so that Overload doesn't gain a free 440 damage anymore.

Ly Astenturf - Status & Assets
Posted by: MakeshiftWalrus - 05-22-2021, 04:28 PM - Forum: Character Applications - No Replies

Applicable BYOND Key - MakeshiftMurk

Character Name - Ly Astenturf [Four Seasons Trading Company]

Request Type - Character status & character assets

Request Details - I want to apply for true, high-standing nobility of the Empire for the character. The kind that makes the ordinary citizen look at you with awe, and fright. The kind so influential it would be criminal not to bow, and show courtesy. It's a position of power primarily seated in the high circles of Cellsvich due to her economical prowess, with strings across most of the naval commerce set between the Empire, Oniga, Egwyn, and Kysei. Presently Ly already has huge stakes in Dormeho, and naval trade in general, I just want her position as a maritime powerhouse to be truly cemented, and indomitable compared to the competition.

Though Ly is by no means a born noble, her merits, and position would earn her the recognition, and titles of the high-standing. As I'm unaware of what titles the Empire even holds, the exact title would have to be figured out.

For assets, here's the specifics of what I want to request: [The rest are in the other document]

[Wavebreaker Shipyard]
Wavebreaker shipyard is the shipyard in Dormeho. More specifically, it's several bays in which ships are made, and it is among the largest, most advanced places in the world when it comes to crafting any kind of naval vessel under the sun. A great deal of money flows to, and from this place, and it isn't exclusively used by Ly's company. It often works on contract from anyone with enough coin on hand, although most would be screened by the local overseer before any project would begin. The shipyard is largely considered the best place to be for aspiring shipwrights, and many fight to be hired on hand due to the prestige, and good pay the work typically gives them. The shipyard's manual labour consists mostly of Mechanations, which, while compensated for their work should they wish, typically without real sentience, or understanding of anything beyond their work.

[The Four Seasons Private Docks]
As the name implies, these are private docks exclusively used by Ly, and those she permits. It'd be a rather substantial part of the total stretch of Dormeho, enough that remaining on good terms with her company is an extremely good idea should one wish to dock their ships without owning private docks of their own. She would be freely within her rights to deny docking within this area, and actively would to anyone she didn't know, or had no business with. Along with the docks themselves, she also owns much of the industry in close proximity to these docks, such as various fishing-related facilities, cranes, and though not too much given the land-based nature, a decently sized caravan-branch.

[The Four Seasons Fleet]
Given the success of her mercantile lead, and business practice, Ly has since gathered an incredible amount of vessels, be it through having them constructed herself, buying them out, or being given them. Not every vessel is capable of true sea travel, and many work within the sphere of the Empire itself. As for exact numbers, given the absolutely titanic nature of the company, she would have about 200 vessels across the world, always sailing, and fulfilling the needs of those with enough coin. A large part of this fleet (Likely about 70-80 vessels) are purely dedicated to sailing goods between Sigrogana, and Oniga under the partnership with House Cyre. The rest are either docked, sail under other contracts, or are leased out to other companies for whatever they might need. The flagship of her fleet, the 'Spring Carrier', is always docked in Dormeho, ready to sail Ly wherever she would.

Assets, and influence will persist in her lineage, IE, move on to her daughter's ownership once Ly retires, and so on. With some consequences of course, such as loss of trust, and personal experience, etc. Those would have to be made anew.

Reason why you are making this request (if applicable) - I've grown Ly as a character for about 5 years OOCly at this point, starting from very, very young, to her now elderly age. Through this journey, she sailed on the very ship that would eventually become the flagship of her maritime empire, amassing more, and more wealth first on the sea, and then land when she could finally sail no more. Her company has only grown throughout all these years, nurtured by various things I cannot mention openly in fear of meta-gaming, but will include in a separate document.

I want her position in life to be properly reflected politically in the game. Made 'Canon', if you would, giving her a ton of actual recognition world-wide from anyone that had to do with commerce, either as someone to be looked up to, or to be envied for her resources.

Roleplay & Lore supporting your request - Ly's journey began when she was adopted into the house of a wealthy Mercalan man, and though she never officially took his surname, she did buy her first ship with his benefaction. This ship was an old frigate titled 'The Spring Carrier' once used for privateering in the days of the Sigro-Onigan war, seeing plenty of battles in its time, and coming out relatively unscathed afterwards. The crew, though not happy to be under the leadership of a woman, and one with zero experience at sea no less, nevertheless took her aboard as it sailed east, for the coasts of Gold.

Though her vessel was her own, Ly began to make money by sailing under a maritime company by the name of 'Summertide Trading', leasing away her ship to travel the stretch between Sigrogana, and Oniga in the times of the post-war tragedy, earning her no small amount of voyages as the company dealt with the noble clan of House Cyre. With a highly experienced crew to teach her, it wouldn't be long before she mastered the stretch, and gradually began to earn the respect, and recognition of those aboard. By the time her company saw their profits grow, and expand, Ly had already placed heavy stocks in the company itself, and began on what she would later come to consider her conquest of the company's assets.

It would be roughly fifteen years at sea, where she sailed further, and further from her home in the Empire, meeting new people, and potential business partners she referred to the company in both Chaturanga, and in Egwyn. Becoming multilingual as a result of necessity for proper communication came during this time, and Ly herself would often be contracted by the company to land deals, or speak with representatives whenever she wasn't commandeering her own ship on voyages. This was almost certainly the most studious time in her life, and one that she would recall fondly for the rest of her days.

...But it would not last. Having been called by a favour from a friend, she lent her ship, and crew to sail them to a fateful confrontation. Not long after her friends had set foot in Egwyn, her vessel was assaulted by an unknown faction, her crew killed, and Ly herself disappearing with only a couple of scraps of her uniform remaining behind. Her friends, though victorious, would sail home on a battered ship with none of the original crew to guide them.

From here, her history becomes muddled for a while: [See the other document]

Six or so years later however, Ly appeared anew in her former company's office, finding that it had steadily declined while she had been away. Using most of her assets, and shrewd diplomacy, she bought out one of the two owners of the company, entering into a dual partnership with the remaining one. For about half a year, she worked from land to ensure that the coin would flow in again, this time reaping the benefits of her work directly as she could once again cast her net across the world to all her previous business partners, of which she had always remained positive with. They were, of course, happy to see her return to what she did best-- lining everyone's pockets with murai.

Upon reaching the halfway-point of the year however, at the cusp of winter, her fellow co-owner fell deathly ill with an illness that would go on to rot his brain from the inside, and out. No physician could save him, and Ly would in the end remain as the sole owner of the company, due to a lack of progeny of her partner.

She took the opportunity to rebrand the company's name from 'Summertide Trading' to 'Four Seasons Trading Company', implying that despite whatever season it was, she would deliver without fail. With her sphere of influence growing, her wealth flowing in, and seemingly no major threats to her company's existence, it would continue to develop for many, many years forward.

With her vast amounts of wealth, she would funnel large portions of it back into her company to ensure its dominance in the market, but she would also begin to fund various things in the side-- community projects, or philanthropy, primarily around Dormeho which made up her own base of operations as far as her company was concerned. She would be one of the first to step forward when the Dormehan militia under the leadership of one Zachery Cross underwent changes, financially supporting them so they could better protect the people, and by proxy, her company. She would also later go on to host a myriad of different events to improve the positive look of herself, gathering vast donations for those in need, or those providing for the same.

These days the company is about as big as it's going to get, with most of what it earns merely being circled back in to keep it steady, and strong. Ly seems fine with this however, and hasn't made any big changes that might hurt it in the long run, likely in preparation for when she eventually gets too old to handle the responsibilities it yet entails.

Worldbuilding, Lore & Pain

If you're wondering what the image is, it's from a game called Kenshi - one of my favorite games in terms of how they built their world and lore, and how they decided to showcase it. It's mostly there just to save me the eyesore from the wall of text.

INDEX
1. Introduction
2. The Issue At Hand
3. Worldbuilding, Lore & Pain
4. Mechanical Backing
5. Counterpoint: Freedom of RP
6. Counterpoint: SL2 Isn't Serious
7. Proposal & Conclusion

1. Introduction

For the sake of your sanity and mine, I decided to make a little index to keep my thoughts organized and to (try to) make this post an easier read for everyone. I started writing and rewriting this at 7 PM and it's now 3 AM.

I want to start by prefacing the following: SL2 is a game I love. I registered on BYOND back in 2015 to play SS13 after I got tired of playing High RP servers in San Andreas Multiplayer and figured I would see what else BYOND had to offer besides SS13. That is how I stumbled into SL2 and I have been playing since with a few breaks here and there. I've had my ups and downs in it, and yet I keep coming back to it every time.

That is, largely, for two reasons. The first is the roleplay. The world of SL2, while not fully fledged out, has a lot of very interesting concepts that you rarely if ever find anywhere else. It's a game with a lot of potential to be something great and I've had extremely memorable RP playing it. The second, naturally, is the players. I have met some of the best roleplayers in my life playing SL2 and they're some of the nicest people I still regularly talk to. Without them, the game just wouldn't be the same.

The PVP and PVE in SL2 is no doubt one of the main draws of the game. I've spent many hours trying new builds, trying to synergize classes and calculating builds. But the novelty of it wears down fairly fast. PVP alone is not enough to make me want to play the game, and the roleplay in it really makes it shine and be something much more enjoyable. Updates to the combat system add some of the spark there was before, but it too doesn't last for long once you've played around with it enough.

In the sections ahead, I will try to explain what I see as an issue with the direction of SL2. I am speaking from my own perspective, naturally, so I'm not speaking for anyone else in the community. Some players have a similar sentiment to mine, but that is for them to voice.

2. The Issue At Hand

What is the problem with the game, then? Roleplay.

Roleplay in SL2 is not as developed as it should be. Worldbuilding and lore are the two core obstacles currently stifling roleplay. We have plenty of lore, most of which is scattered in game chat pop-ups, a sorely lacking fandom wikia, many lore questions threads that have been compiled into one big .txt file and an in-progress wiki that is properly expanding upon bits of lore. When you put all of these together, you have lore that is, well. Inadequate.

Mind you, the lore and world exist. They are there. They are simply hard to reach, or have not yet been put down into words. What the playerbase knows about the world is what bits have been scattered in NPC dialogue, what questions have been asked to Dev and what the GMs know and pass down to the players when asked. This is an issue.

The lore questions system is fundamentally backwards. Lore questions should be used as a secondary means to clear doubts regarding a fleshed out setting, rather than the primary means to try and understand said setting through once-a-month questions. It's like trying to fill a sandbox a grain at a time. Fictional worlds are meant to be big worlds full of opportunities, possibilities and knowledge. But charting it out one question at a time is not going to help players understand it.

This leads to two things. The first being that players enclose themselves in their own bubbles of headcanon, lacking knowledge about the world that should be fundamental and coming up with their own answers to their own questions until they step on a GM's toes. The second being that it leads to a lack of roleplay. People have no real grounds to interact with others save for normal conversation to pass the time. There is little drive to initiate conflict, as there are no stark cultural differences, no tensions between the many different races or beliefs, no grudges over historical events to overcome through character development. Interactions can end up being ultimately meaningless, as it's hard to feel like your character is a part of the world and be immersed in it.

The Sigroganan Empire, the central nation and that which the world is named after, only has a few small paragraphs in its wikia page after all these years. One example out of many.

One of the solutions to this issue was introducing Eventmins. It was a long awaited addition to stir up more roleplay and make thing less samey and monotone - but ultimately, it is a bandaid to what is a problem far larger. Even Eventmins have to run their own self-contained events, as their addition changed nothing in regards to how much of a world we have to work with.

The issue at hand is that SL2 needs worldbuilding.

3. Worldbuilding, Lore & Pain

Worldbuilding is an important step for any roleplay game. There needs to be an establishing of the internal logic that dictates a world. While SL2 does have bits of worldbuilding here and there, for the most part, the world feels empty and directionless. Everybody roleplays in their own self-contained bubbles of lore and there are little lore interactions between people unless they're pre-arranged through OOC means.

As my main character is a Shaitan, I can provide an example of the above.

According to lore, the Shaitan are a people with barely if any rights in the Sigroganan Empire. They are commonly feared - and rightfully so - for their scorched mind, star-given mood swings and dangerous claws that are capable of tearing people to shreds. Officially, the Sigroganan Empire does not acknowledge them as real and the Secretary of Defense holds the authority to swiftly imprison or execute Shaitan without due process. Despite all of this, I consisently stumble into people who freely acknowledge the Shaitan as people and will proudly say so in public despite the danger it should entail for one to go against the Empire's whims. When I act on this and attempt to silence the offender with threats or persuade them that Shaitan do not exist, I am completely alone in this because very few people play along with this fact.

This is not to say that the players who acknowledge Shaitan are at fault or have done anything wrong. This is to say that the lore we have on the culture/laws/etc surrounding the Shaitan are very lacking. It amounts to, without exaggeration, two sentences. These concepts need expanding upon, the Shaitan example being only one of many.

What's the population of the Empire?

What's the Empire's main economic resource?

How do politics in the Empire work?

Who are the faces that lead the Empire?

What is the level of education the average Imperial citizen recieves?

All of these questions are examples of what I refer to with worldbuilding. These are little questions that on their own have little impact, but all of them put together helps build a believable world that everyone can understand and play around. It doesn't mean that people should never ever acknowledge Shaitan because the Empire doesn't, but it should mean that the people who acknowledge them understand what they're getting into if they choose to do so in public. Otherwise, we're all just throwing around what we think is how the world works, and thus stifling RP that could otherwise be extremely entertaining.

GMs and other people who have asked those example questions know the answer, I'm sure, but that's not the point of presenting them as examples. The point of presenting them is to showcase what I mean with what should be asked of the setting to piece it together. Asking GMs or other players should not be my go-to when I need an answer to a question about the setting, it should be as simple as having a detailed wiki article in which, for example, all of the important aspects of the Empire are covered. An overview, its history, its politics, its factions, its economy, its laws, its culture. That much is necessary for a proper roleplaying game.

That is, also, not to say that everyone needs to know how many grams of yarn the Empire exports to the decimal. If someone really wishes to know information so precise, for whatever reason, that is where lore questions would optimally cue in. Lore questions should serve as a backup to answer the doubts players have from reading the detailed lore about the world, instead of making it the primary means of understanding how the world works.

For all of these matters, I have a solution I will propose at the conclusion of this post, but there are matters that still need addressing.

4. Mechanical Backing

Although this section is a bit of a tangent, I feel it's still a matter that is worth mentioning. In regards to roleplay in general, an emote command alone does not suffice. I'm hyperbolizing, of course, but SL2 as a game should have mechanics directly geared for the purpose of roleplay. The PVP is certainly one of the main draws of the game, but what enhances it the most is the roleplay that entails those fights and happens within them. Roleplay and mechanics dedicated to it should be as much of a focus of the game as is the combat.

The inclusion of roleplay traits was certainly a step in the right direction, but as of right now, the roleplay traits are extremely underwhelming. Some traits are plain and simply combat traits. One that really stands out as the trait I adore the most is Oracle's Voices of the Past. It is purely a roleplay trait and opens up a whole new avenue of possibilities for roleplay alone, be it opportunities to approach someone, the ability to spy on others through lore-relevant means, etcetera. That is the direction roleplay traits should take in making players get immersed in the races they play - though it shouldn't be necessarily restricted to racial traits.

Traits aside, there are a lot of possibilities for little roleplay mechanics that could be included. Little things such as letting Guards actually handcuff and pull criminals around, the ability for winged races to hover over the ground as if they're actually flying, more NPCs with more insight into the world of Sigrogana, anything and everything that expands upon the roleplay and immersion of the game, rather than a continued focus on PV(P/E) updates.

5. Counterpoint: Freedom of RP

An argument I've heard very often while discussing the topic of worldbuilding and lore with other players was that if SL2 were to have more detailed lore, it would heavily stifle creativity and force everyone to rework parts of their characters.

The answer to this concern is rather straightforward. Building a world does not imply that everyone becomes all of a sudden forced to roleplay accordingly to how a set of rules says you should. This is simply not a thing. Building a world means building a framework in which any person is free to grab it and weave their own stories around it. The only feasible way in which building a world could impact your character is if, for some reason, your character's story heavily relies on how many grams of yarn the Empire exports. What I mean by that is that if you created your character solely based off your headcanon about how the world works, then yes, your character will be impacted.

Lore doesn't in any way restrict creativity from players. Lore is there for everyone to be on the same page and have meaningful interactions in a world that isn't our own. With lore, you and I both could play veterans of the Oniga-Sigrogana War and have meaningful interactions over something relevant to lore, speaking at a bar about our tales of war. The more depth to the War, the more we have to work off for being able to interact. Perhaps your character and mine served alongside the same skirmish at Tannis, or perhaps we both held the line in the bloodbath as the Onigan forces pushed into the forests.

That is the framework a detailed world and lore gives for players to interact. To have characters with knowledge and traits in common that they can discuss, or react to one another for. But those interactions cannot happen without fully fledged out lore unless you and I coordinate the interaction OOCly.

6. Counterpoint: SL2 Isn't Serious

Another point that has been brought up while discussing the topic is that SL2 is not a serious game, that the lore should be left as is to allow for creativity from players and that making more detailed lore means stepping on the players that like to enjoy the game casually.

Technically, the counterpoint is not untrue. I've been all over when it comes to roleplaying games and I've certainly experienced very demanding ones that would have a cop giving you a fine over running in the streets. That might be too extreme of an example, however. But much like the previous counterpoint, the expanding upon of lore would have little impact on the way SL2 is. SL2 would still be SL2 even if we focused on expanding upon the roleplay and lore. There is nothing new to be created here, nor any new rules to be added.

At most, it would encourage people to act more upon concepts established in lore if they're properly detailed.

7. Proposal & Conclusion

My proposal to try and help to solve the problem of worldbuilding is that of what I can only vaguely refer to as Loremins.

From what I understand, Dev works a job and doesn't have all of the time in the world to dedicate to SL2. That much is assumed and understood throughout my entire wall of text. And that is why I bothered to write it in the first place. My goal with this thread is to find a way to help Dev develop the wiki for the playerbase to have a steady flow of information about the world of Sigrogana. That is why I propose Loremins.

A Loremin's task is to largely replace the lore questions system temporarily. Instead of having one whole thread about questions that can range from the tiniest to the largest detail, have a group of players instead bounce off questions that are key to understanding how the lore works. That is not to say the secrets of the lore should be posted all nice and pretty on a wiki, but rather, the core topics that need to be covered to have a cohesive and unified world. Nations and how they operate, Gods and their worship, magic and how it works, cultures, geography, etc. All of this information can then be neatly compiled, checked through Dev to make sure it's good to publish, then post it on the wiki for everyone to read.

That would speed up the process of getting more lore, and I'm sure the finer details regarding Loremins can be ironed out with more input beyond my own.

To conclude, however, this is ultimately all my subjective opinion. I, personally, don't enjoy the current state of lore. I really want to try and engage with others more with the setting, but it's hard when we're all on different pages and not adhering to one unified world. In the end, it's Dev's game and it's up to him whether he wants to work on roleplay/lore or not, I can only give my opinion on what I feel is the right direction.

Thank you for reading my schizoid blogpost.

This is going to be a biased thread, as I just fought a build that heavily relied on the qualities I’m complain against. Take my opinions with a heavy grain of salt.

Evade from skills should not stack; it should only use the highest available buff. Unarmored Prowess should not stack with Protection from Arrows; assuming the same rank against bows it would use Protection from Arrows and against everything else it would use Unarmored Prowess, for example.

As it only counts skills, armor will still function with the skills, as would CEL-boosts. In addition, it would make non-magical dodgers more viable- as more skills get added to the game, more options become available to stack even more dodge. As a non-magical dodger, you’d be out of many of the skills added and thus the tropes of a non-magical swashbuckler or fencer or such become less viable as they fall out of the meta. Making each dodge skill unstackable lets users choose each skill at which best fits their concept.

The same could apply to hit skills; I would recommend a buff to sharpen if this was the case.
