As it stands, Mechanations are great (bar Standard).

I'm here TODAY to suggest something that, frankly, should be given to All of the No Gear Races. (Chimera feet / Apertaurus Hooves apply here)

Gear Base Kit.

This is specifically for Mechanations, but the concept can be applied to other races. Races with such skills that adjust their ungeared state are given a special Race Option.

0 Battle Weight, 0 Inventory weight

Regaliable, and most importantly. Upgradeable at the blacksmith. No longer will Chimeras just lose Evade for daring to use their Tyrant Paws. No longer will Agile Mechs have to be specifically specced for Dodgie due to high base Cel, but ALSO lose out on 5 evade because they're bothering to use their (really good admittedly) racial ability.

This does have some caveats, namely that 'Oh hey. Now Unarmored Standard Mechs can gigantic their torso and upgrade it??? and potentially material kit it???'. Which is also the same for RAID CANNON. But like.

Please? Standard Mechs need help. Agile Mechs are at a dodge deficit.

Chimeras are sucking shit with Grudge Claw over just using a normal ass fist weapon.

Pwease. Also Brittus has been commissioned to make sprites for the Mechanation slot regalias.

the main downside of running these traits is you're missing out on the +5 evade from upgrade and possible evade-skewed enchants that are normally on shoe slot items. It's a good idea for sure to have access to these, it does change some things such as being able to give a different enchantment to RRC and Grudge Claws potentially.

I actually disagree. To me, the point of these options is that they are specifically not upgradeable. This is the trade-off for getting the gear (or parts) without much effort on your part.

You just get it, you don't have to upgrade it, it's as good as it gets. I am glad that there is an option that doesn't require playing the minigame of having to get your buddy timothy toolsmith jongle up 4 pieces of screw tightening, rub it with the catalyst of extra vitamins and dip it in chili sauce for fire resistance.

If you want the gear to be visible for clarity's sake, that's fine, I don't disagree that it would be nice to be able to read the gear's numbers from the equipment screen.

But making them the same as every other piece of gear is something I don't want. If you want that, just use other gear. If the issue is that they aren't strong enough or leg racials remove shoe evade then let's just cut out the middle man and ask for the buffs directly.

I do like builds that can be made quickly because optimizing gear is pretty annoying when you play a ton of characters. Ideally though the weapons should at least have comparable hit and be generally usable in a high end build even if they're not as good as an optimized weapon

As a Raid Cannon fan, i'd like for SOME things changed on it.. Namely. 10 more crit. Multiple Rounds (2 or 3 rounds. PLEASE)... and like. 5-10 more hit.

The torso just Needs Help.

Agile should just get 5 evade/fp for existing with the boots. MAYBE something equivalent to a warwalk enchant. Maybe.

Cabal can have their entire thing be reworked, because the best thing about Cabal doesn't even require a slot sacrificed.
