... when it comes to cloth and page materials, at least.

As pictured, breaking down items made of cloth and pages no long yields any of those core materials.
I've also tested and confirmed on multiple characters that is isn't just visual either, breaking the items down gives you what is shown.
Metal and remains items seem to be working as intended.
