All of the points here are valid but of course, metagaming could happen, I mean it happens in-game already with a lack of something like a fandom just to a lesser degree. My whole thing is, people would be able to edit their own page accordingly so releasing information that you wouldn't want to be metagame to hell would truly just be on you/the person responsible for the page. The GMs would mostly just govern the fandom making sure people aren't blatantly lying or god-modding certain things and for players to make a page it'd require approval (Of course they'd likely be making the official lore pages for prominent lore figures as well).

Things like having to be approved to be on the fandom, making sure it's monitored, and players being aware that the information they put out is viewable to the whole player base could easily fix a lot of the problems that come with it.
