[v.2.87 v3] Assorted Map Oddities 3 & Knuckles

In retribution for the fixing of the + on the one history that didn't have one, I went and found more oddities!

In the Crucible, the first set of lava pits as you come in, the northernmost of those before the stone is trying to connect away from the pit itself, as well.

The waterfall next to Fire Elemental's cave has the cliff not properly curving, and there are tiles without anything under them, leading to a black void, on both sides of the cave.

In lava lake, the first jump left after entering should be connecting to the wall one tile down, rather than where it is.

The fire crystal cave never got any light sources like other places with lava!

The left side of the Landal quest ruin has a roof edge that curves but a wall that doesn't.

Just south of the Geladyne bridge before the Landal Ruin, this cliff only comes 2 down when it should be in line with the other cliffs.

In Terra Flama, the waterfall in the cave after the first ring has this cliff that seems to be half trying to curve, half trying to stay straight.

In the hop scotch cypelle area of terra flama, the cliffs don't connect fully to the wall, they end and are followed by regular square tiles.

The small bridge just before the smugglers and the Vale has warps that push you back, rather than jumping between sides.

As Gale pointed out, there's a skeleton under this grate in the right side of the central section of Duyuei Underground. Despite being under your feet it's dense and blocks your path. I'm not sure whether it's meant to be under or over you.

In the cave system section of the Duyuei Underground, heading up to the waterfall jumps, the cliff connects prematurely before it gets to a full flat wall.

The cave south of the waterfall section is hard stone on grass - I think edited versions were made that could replace this?

The cliffs on the waterfall jumps themselves both curve, but the walls don't follow suit.

The shading doesn't go all the way into the curve of the tree at the camp next to the Duyuei Arena, and ends as a flat border.

In the Ice Palace, this jump doesn't actually have a cliff edge. Those likely didn't exist at the time but they do now for the snow tiles, so this can likely be added now.

The ruin in the forest south of Telegrad has incomplete shading.

The ravine before the forest south of Telegrad, where the initial bridge is, tries to curve but also doesn't.

In Duyuei outskirts, many of the trees have an issue with the shading layering twice, like in this case with the trees just north of the purple tree puzzle.

Where Meiaquar's training field gives way to the tent, the dirt tries to connect to the tent, too.

In Geladyne's library / archives, some of the ladders have inconsistent density. You're meant to be able to walk up them, but some of them have dense spots right at the top, or in the middle, when you're already on the ladder.

Went through and looked over these in v.2.88 v2, and here are all of the things I noticed:

In the area with the waterfall next to Fire Elemental's cave, the wall to the right of the fire elemental entrance still has a void tile underneath the cliff.

In the hop-scotch section of Terra Flama (the area with cypelle and all the jump points), the wall isn't quite connecting correctly, as if there's a missing piece of wall.

In the same room, there's also a little bit of void to the left of the part where you first jump.

 In Landal's Ruin the roof curving but the wall beneath not problem is still there, and now an oddity happens on the bottom wall too.

The small bridge before smuggler's vale still pushes you back when approaching it from the top - the warp from the south is non-functional and doesn't warp you at all, now.

In Duyuei's Crypt, the skeleton you could still collide with is no longer collidable, however the tile above it is dense still. Didn't notice this before, but may have always been like that. Still doesn't seem intended.

The waterfall section of the cave part of Duyuei Crypt now curves on one side, but the curves of the platform behind the waterfall are still completely absent. The wall also isn't using any bottom tiles to connect them to the rest of the wall. Those are just middle tiles.

The shading issue with the trees next to the tent by Duyuei's arena hasn't been touched. No change seems apparent there.

In the forest with the castle South of Telegrad, the wall near the entrance to Telegrad proper now curves but the edges don't curve with it.

The shading on that one ruin in the southmost part of this same forest map doesn't go round the sides, on neither top nor bottom.

There's no cliff at the jump point in the outside of Ice Palace still. May be intentional, though.

Some parts of the ladders in Geladyne Archives are still dense. Nothing here seems to have changed.

Everything else seems to have been fixed fully!

The version didn't go up to 6, remaining at 5, but fixes were done and noticed!

Decided to compile any remaining bugs across the map oddities threads into one, rather than re-opening several threads at once. This should hopefully make it a little less spammy in terms of reopened bug threads, and easier to manage. Please don't kill me, Dev. Anyhow, let's get to the stuff that still persists in terms of oddities that were already reported here. I've labelled bugs in bold and anything in italic is mostly just me musing, not proper bug report stuff.

Terra Flama - Hopscotch Section

Wall comes down 4 instead of 3 where the rest comes down 3 tiles.

Landal's Ruin - Far Left

Top wall fixed, bottom wall still has the odd peeking connection that doesn't connect to the rest of the wall whatsoever.

Wanderer's Vale - Bridge by Smuggler's Cavern

Same issue as before. Approaching from the bottom side, no warp whatsoever. Approaching from top side the warp throws you back one tile, rather than crossing sides.

Castle Forest - Right of Bridge into Telegrad

Unchanged between updates, wall curves round but edge doesn't curve to follow it.

Castle Forest - Small Ruin

Same issue as most of the other ruins had - visual provided this time. Shading unfinished on both top and bottom layer. Also seems like the thing uses square connections between isometric pieces, unlike other ruins. Though this might not be a problem and I won't re-report it if it's not fixed.

Duyuei - Arena Area

Same issue as reported before, shading ends before going under the treeline, leaving the treeline unshaded.

Duyuei Crypt - Cave Waterfall Jump Section

Issue reported unchanged between updates. Top wall after platform doesn't have bottom tiles, only middle and top. Platform under the waterfall is entirely middle tiles despite being a curving platform. Admittedly there are a lot of wall / edge curve problems in the cave section, but I'll leave that for another day to give a break from new oddity reports.

Duyuei Crypt - Middle Chamber

Same issue as previously reported - tile just above Skeleton Head underneath the grate is still dense, though the skeleton head no longer is.

Duyuei Outskirts - Leftmost Farm

Same treeline as before, the top part connects the full way now, but the bottom bushy (not autojoin) part of the treeline is missing in a place.

The Wastes - Front Tower

Void is now gone on the left, but it suffers from the same issue of the tower ending before going under the cliff that the right one did before that was fixed. Also notice a weird connection of the edges in the top middle, but that's not part of the report.

Geladyne - Library / Archives

Same issue as mentioned, though it wasn't provided with an image since there wasn't a way to display it so it may have been overlooked. Some ladders you can climb the full way, some have dense spots halfway up the ladder. Would be preferable if the dense spots were removed.

I'm assuming the lack of cliff at the jump-down point in the Ice Palace section is intended now, so I'm not re-reporting that.

Did also notice some trees still double shade towards the right side of Duyuei Outskirts, though for the most part the left side is fixed. There was also a missing piece of shading on the treeline to your left as you approach the ruins in the outskirts. I'll probably report that in the next one, which will be a while off, don't worry...

Pretty sure the version you checked wasn't the one that actually had the changes in them. Check again in 2.89 v3.

Some others had been fixed in that version, some that hadn't been fixed in any of the other versions - such as the bridge to the Firelands underlaying properly, so the version I checked was definitely one with changes in...

I'll check again, but it's definitely confusing if some were fixed in the version I checked up from the version that was broken, and some weren't.

Edit: This is a psyop.

I checked the test server just to see if I was going insane, and some of the ones I have marked here were fixed between then and now!

Just to check I wasn't going crazy I looked on the current test server, which should be post-bugfix patch.

Some on that list were fixed, but those that still persisted are:

Terra Flama's Hopscotch Section.
Wanderer's Vale's bridge warp.
Duyuei Arena's tent.
The waterfall of Duyuei Underground was partially fixed, the cliff up from the jutted out platform is still missing bottom tiles, it's entirely middle tiles connecting the stone to the wall.
The issue with Duyuei Outskirts treeline.
The Wastes Tower.

The others were fixed at some point and I either didn't notice or the patches were separate...

I'll check again in v3 but it does seem like some have been fixed.

Reported issues all fixed as of test server version v.2.89 v3, only one to persist is a partial of a partial - the bottom of the cliffs in the waterfall have been fixed, except on the platform under the waterfall itself. The rest are fixed, until next time!
