If you knew I was referring to spars, then why did you answer my post by talking about antagonism?

The entire premise of my post is that it's difficult to find fair and enjoyable fights for both parties by playing an antag. What you've done is list reasons why my antags aren't fun, when that's not the point of the post. I actually enjoy playing antags, and most of the time it's fun for all parties involved.

Not a single time in this post have I said I want people to remember and care about my shitty antags. But that seems to be what you're stuck on. You probably don't know, but I have had countless amazing experiences with antags, roleplaying emotional scenes and leaving an impact on others. But this is not what this post is about. It's about the pvp. I'm saying I want to enjoy some lighthearted pvp in a separate area, because I enjoy pvp, that's all.

As for your second point, this is not the same suggestion as the previous times. I think it's pretty reasonable, it wouldn't bother normal people, and I think many people would be able to enjoy it. But you aren't really addressing my actual suggestion, all you've done is invalidate me and sawrock's points of view.

too long didnt read

you have wrote, verbatim, "Playing a bad guy, aka antagonist, isn't really a great way to engage in pvp" in bold. ofc i'm gonna talk about antagonism when in basic literacy it being within the bolded part makes it a part of the issue. i have not seen " I want to enjoy some lighthearted pvp in a separate area, because I enjoy pvp" in the original post but this makes your intentions clearer. if i was a major i'd grade you D-, see me after class no ruler no solblader say-post only fight.

its an rp mandatory space in korvara, atleast that's the advertisement for it. you gave a whole tourney suggestion on april that made you look like a damn fool and here you are again when g6 is right there, if people want non narrative pvp they'll follow suit, it's really that simple. no one would ever be against a law's end esque space because fellas love it given its handled well, but it wasn't, won't be now either i reckon but hey quote me on that

anyways i think exgen and tens of du are knocking on my door holding a black moon to go golden oozaru after writing this i gotta wash the sweat off

Here's the concept. Antag pvp not reliable, but antag fun. Spar not fun. Pvp fun. So what if we have another way to do pvp. That's really it.

I dunno why you have to be so damn rude about it. Yeah I made a dumb post about an arena mode that nobody liked. Who cares? And are you seriously telling me to go to g6? How does that fix anything?

I don't really like the tone that's pervaded this thread.

I don't want to see someone who's pushing for ideas to better something they perceive as a problem in the game getting stamped out by pot shots at the way they play, and I definitely don't want to see people telling other people to get off the game or go somewhere else over it.

If you want to disagree with the idea that's fine, but don't start getting backhanded.

Keep things respectful on the forums, please and thank you.

Onwards to my thoughts on the content of the original post.

I think that there is some merit to the idea of this post.

The turnout for Fight Night in Meiaquar is pretty damn good every time it rolls around, it shows that there is an interest in PVP if there's a reward tied to it, whether it's monetary or reputation oriented, people show up.

Whether this is something that could be added to the current Arena in Meiaquar (similarly to how the Arena in G6 worked, but more PVP oriented) or as something like Laws End is up for discussion, but it's not bad by any stretch.

I'd not want this to be tied to any nation, if possible. Neutrality would be a key factor in keeping the spirit of a PvP zone alive.

Yeah, PvP tournaments have been sort of a staple in SL2, they happen occasionally, drawing in a big crowd of people and plenty of fighters. I played in many and it's always a fun time. I do like tournaments because there's actual stakes for winning. It's not as blood-pumping intense as life or death battles in the wilds, but those aren't really something we need to have happen all the time.

This makes me think maybe it would be good to have the occasional pvp tourney happen via in-game event like the raid stuff. Something very simple, neutral location or not, where people show up, mechanically sign up, and then participate in fights and get a reward in xp and murai at the end for the victor, with maybe some random rare item. This would be fairly simple but would immediately anchor the pvp scene to something consistent.

The G6 arena was kinda just an arena, nothing special. But it did have the idea of monster prisoners and such... Maybe we could amp up that aspect, make it a little more gritty and high stakes you know? Like maybe if it was allowed to agree to a "battle to the death" in the arena? If it was a bit of a neutral outlaw-ish location that would be sick.
