So like. Maintenance applies to making tomes as well, even though it seems... off and out of place. Not many people who have enchantment < See: Mages > will take maintenance to max out their tome-crafting properties. Could we possibly have that bonus shifted from MAINTENANCE, for tomes at least, and to ENCHANTMENT, since making a tome requires the enchantment skill, which ENCHANTMENT doesn't give as a talent.

Proper tome maintenance means not dog-earing the pages to keep
your place, and using a goddamn bookmark like normal people do.
It's about not using Book Smack unless you absolutely need that -1
Momentum, or the Blunt damage type, because smacking firebirds
over the head with an object made of paper, leather and glue is not
a good idea.
