Playing video games make me think. Ridiculous or not, these are only suggestions. Feel free to discuss!
Soldier
Shield Drum
4m
Shield/Heavy Armor specific skill. User must have shield or heavy armor equipped to use.
The user strikes their shield or armor to invoke the attention of foes and braces themselves for an onslaught of attacks. The user loses just as much strength to spend energy on focusing on their defenses. Lasts for 2-3 rounds.
User gains 3*Rank DEF/RES but also loses 3*Rank STR for the duration of this skill
Rank 1: Learn skill, 20 FP, +3 DEF/RES, -3 STR
Rank 2: 15 FP, +6 DEF/RES, -6 STR
Rank 3: 10 FP, +9 DEF/RES, -9 STR
High FP requirement at first to discourage the "for utility" mentality.
Duration is up for debate. I feel that its use in PvP, particularly in team battles, make this skill too useful to draw attention away from squishies or what have you. It also feels metagamy. Could use work in the PvP component; feel free to pitch in.
Jab(for lack of a better name)
1m
The user finds ways to maximize offensive potential, taking advantage of small windows of time to exchange a blow. The damage per hit is equal to WPN Power + 1/3 STR, rounded down. Does not take up a skill slot.
Only deployable when the user has 2 momentum or less
Rank 1: Learn Skill, 2 FP
Black Knight
Fortress Onslaught
4m or 5m
When under siege, you stand your ground and fight back. The user utilizes the Black Wind and repeatedly strikes whatever is around them in a 1 tile radius. A defensive posture is then put up to minimize consequences, increasing DEF by 1*Rank for 2 rounds. The number of hits is based on Rank, and the damage per hit is equal to WPN Power + ½ STR. Each hit requires a successful accuracy check (based on the regular attack formula.)
Rank 1: Learn Skill, 12 FP, +1 Def, Hits: 2
Rank 2: 14 FP, +2 Def, Hits: 2
Rank 3: 16 FP, +3 Def,Hits: 3
Rank 4: 18 FP, +4 Def, Hits: 4
Rank 5: 20 FP, +5 Def, Hits: 5
4m for more offensive/movement options. (more fun)
5m to restrict options, similar to Checkmate. (less fun)
