With how many Damage Resistances were added, can there be a cap on how much damage you can actually end up resisting via DR? for Physical, Magical, and then the Overall DR? This doesn't count elemental resistances of course.
Reasoning:
My 16 base defense papillion Verglas can currently tank more physical damage than my 55 base defense dullahan BK due to DR stacking.

Honestly I could see a 40% cap on both Phys and Magical, with a 60% overall cap? If you mean like 40% phys, and 20% mag is DR'd.
Though this applies to FULL GUARDING too, so it might just have to be in terms of base things that items give.
If nothing else, I'd go with 40, 40, 20. Idk how balance works tho so whatevs.

I'd say have a few instances specially ignore the DR Cap, like Guard, as guard has a drawback to using it (losing momentum, and can be disabled via KD)
However, I will agree, 40% / 40%, is something I could go for, instead of an Overall Cap

Would the damage reduction cap include capping evasion + wraithguard? Even against one-hitter Charge mind mages? If so, I can't support that. Otherwise, then yes!

Probably not easily, especially when a lot of monsters rely on having 100% resistance to specific elements.
I'd personally be more interested in reducing the effective DR gained from certain sources because it gets quite high. I know Sayakana is one of the bigger offenders and that's probably overdue for a nerf/adjustment since cursed/doomed weapons have been significantly increased in usefulness since it was added. I'd like to hear some thoughts on other sources of DR that need toning down (less interested in racials since those usually bestow weaknesses of equal value).

Sayakana and probably Golden Glow are the ones in need of a nerf so far (Though Golden Glow can get an indirect nerf if Aid can no longer be used on yourself). I'd argue that Talent/Stamp Bonuses and certain equipments (I'm looking at you, COMC) make resist-stacking a complete breeze, though I believe those parts should get some discussion first and foremost. Not Damage Resistance,
Damage Reduction.
DR isn't the case here, and Dresistance isn't nearly as bad as outright Damage Reduction sources, now-a-days

Ah, I did mean Damage Reductions yes, The wording between the two is confusing, but either way, if nerfing Sayakana is a thing, converting it to Damage Reduction, whilist introducing a Damage Reduction cap, might actually help a lot in that case.
Elemental Resistances are fine as is though, as I said before.

Resist stacking and DR stacking are both common tactics for people who want to win -- I can't remember the last time any person who doesn't rely on only basic attacks wasn't using rustic + sayakana.

That's mostly just because +5 power from Rustic. Change Rustic to something less useful in power game, like bonus crit, or a chance to give tetanus, and you're golden.
