Being able to bash chests open doesn't sound too farfetched, but my idea does have some obvious drawbacks to it compared to lockpicking
You'd have the ability to bash the chests/their locks open, but with the downside of breaking some items inside of it completely or just a bit (the latter being repairable one way or another)
This is a short and simple one, really.

I support this because I want a way to unga bunga my way into a chest. Why fiddle with precise tools when you can just rip the top off?

I feel like lockpicking is just so essential when you're trying to make money especially early on. With this change it would give more lax to strength characters who ICly wouldn't be able to lockpick but still try to break in. Maybe it could cost more stamina than doors as well so it's not as trivial

Possibly - and just hear me out here...
What if it was like KOTOR and when you bashed open a container it broke some of the loot inside - aka, gave materials instead of items? :)
