Camp Lock
#1
Effectively a mechanical scene-lock for campsites. I enjoy my remote 1 on 1 type RP and don't like having to ask people in LOOC to leave if it becomes too crowded, as it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. A small padlock icon or something similar to signify the campsite is locked could clear it up on the overworld too.

How about when you are about to create a camp, you get prompted with "Do you wish to make this a Private camp?", and only you and your party is allowed inside.

The issue I have with invite-only camps is that I personally use LFG's rather than drag people to the camp. Having to leave and grab people outside breaks immersion, whereas being able to open and close the camp feels more intuitive imo. I understand your suggestion is meant to better accommodate break-out open world RP though.

Fair. Toggling it at will seems like the best option overall

I'll throw my two cents in here.

I get wanting to have 1 on 1 RP, as I do it myself from time to time. but when you create a camp on the overworld, if it's in a fairly noticeable location, you can expect people to randomly wander in. these are adventurers for the most part.

I think the best thing to do would be to simply handle it ICly if people do tend to wander in. at the end of the day this is a roleplaying game, and locking others out of roleplaying with you is fairly counter intuitive.
W-what? what do you mean I need to have a catchy signature....i don't know how to do that....wait are you writing this down!?

I understand the desire to rp with people. But I shouldn't need to hide a camp in order to have a one on one scene. You're entitled to find roleplay, but I'm not obligated to open my scene for others just because you happened to see a camp mechanically on the overworld and got curious.

I shouldn't need to occupy one of the limited number of house slots where a camp will do the same or better.

It just doesn't make sense for people to randomly wander into a camp deep in the wilds, or even just out of the main roads. The odds of it happening are extremely low and it's super reasonable to want to keep it private. If you're looking for people to wander in you can put up an lfg, I did that many times and see it often

This would be just a visual indicator that newer players are not welcome at the time.

It's just a thing to keep more from adding to the numbers, I think. Or perhaps it'd be the biggest utility.

I agree that perhaps some camps should be private, but I think that instead of locking people out entirely can be decently exclusionary, parties and requesting to join fights already do a good job filtering out the undesirable by just having a request system you can freely mess around with.

That being said, if a private camp system did exist, I'd prefer it being a toggle option when creating a camp or at the bottom of the camp, and it'd swap from being able to freely join to instead requesting to join.
