Actually, this feature's already in the game, there's an eye on the far right side of the equipment side of the inventory interface, you can click that to view your items.



Alternatively there's another way to check your items even while in battle, in case you get like a STR Bonus in battle for your weapon, you can use a .dblclick macro to select your weapon and view it.
