It is exactly how it is done. Proper roleplay can bypass gameplay's mechanical limitations, using a GM when needed. It has happened before for many situations, and it will continue to happen. It has happened to me and many others. It is a gray situation; taking game mechanics literally and not allowing anyone in is as bad as letting doors not be locked at all in the first place. It is contextual.
