Disclaimer: I'm sure this is right, but if it's not, say so politely.
The chance of an event happening multiple times in a row is (Chance)^Repetitions. Say, you wanted to flip heads twice in a row. You have a one in two chance of flipping heads, and you're trying twice, so that's (.5)^2, or 1/4.
Assuming that the Proc chance for Vorpal is 10%, you have a 90% chance -not- to proc Vorpal. So, over 10 shots, that's (.90)^10, or 34.87% chance to -not- proc Vorpal. Inversely, this means you have a 65.13% chance to proc Vorpal at -least- once. Compare that to the 10% chance of single-shot guns, and there's a pretty big disparity.
*Bows*
EDIT: Apparently, the proc chance for Vorpal is 10%.
