Set down a White Wall (the tact spell) in the middle of a normal battlefield and try to spectate that fight. A good bunch of the map will look black to you (likely because the walls are opaque), meaning you can't click people that you can't see. If people are close enough to the walls, you can see them though - but the ones that are further down in this screenshot are not visible.
