I don't mind any of the above styles. As long as people keep in mind how it works RP'ly and accurately to lore -- who's business is it, anyways? If somebody Roleplays a fisherman I'm going to love them more than the generic adventurer.
I'm inclined to be a 4 - 5 roleplayer, but I have honestly done all the above.
If there's a problem with people saying 'mechanics say this, it cant be that' they are being silly. That limits creativity. That essentially means we're all the same. How boring!
Let them give a take on whatever the means was to achieve the goals. As long as the goals were the same, I don't think there's a problem!
