Why not both? Kensei is a very crit-centric class, but you only see it using crits on its Duelist part.

I'd be all for removing Lighting Impact and making that become the basics for Kensei itself, then give it an extra with the Katanas applying their on-hit effects.

Kensei's utility is killing things, it has no other gimmick but to kill things in a flashy and really good way. With the demise of Absolute Death, it deserves some of its burst potential back.
