Black Knight and VA stuff counts as damage reduction.

Damage Reduction is different from Damage Resistance.

Damage Resistance applies before Stat Resistance.
Damage Reduction applies after Stat Resistance.

Sayakana+Golden Glow+Brighter Darkness are all RESISTANCE effects that provide for 25%.

This is working as intended.
