Using Ingrain and then summoning your Vampiric Legume and telling it to use Ingrain causes such to happen when it shouldn't due to the fact that you lose the Synthesis skill while your Youkai is summoned.

Do you see youkai skills of summoned allies in your skills list (while showing unusable skills)? Can your character use evoke actives of youkai they have summoned?

No, I cannot. Once the Youkai is summoned, the Synthesis passive skill disappears from my character's skill list. Ingrain also disappears once the Vampiric Legume is summoned.

This should be corrected. I believe what was happening was that Sync Mind passive skills were still treated as if the summoner had the skill active, even if the youkai was summoned; it simply wasn't being displayed in the actions list. I wouldn't be surprised if you found identical behavior between all Youkai sync mind passives.
