Whenever the Spellthief passive Tricky is toggled on, whether or not it is in your skill list, it will nullify Sneak.
Shuffle =/= Sneak

How do you toggle it on and off without it in your skill list?

You can't, but even if it's not in your skill list, it remains on. You just can't toggle it off.

I don't see any reason why that would occur or why Tricky would nullify Sneak at all. Sneak only ends when you do damage.

Perhaps it's because it doesn't give the shades created sneak, so when you pop out of them, you don't get sneak either? If you end up going first, the battle transition fade-in would give the game enough time to create then dispel the shades. Which is likely, considering on back-attack, Create Shade + Tricky + Shuffle always puts me in a random spot, not close to any enemies.

Nevermind. During my testing, I wasn't accounting for the fact that Sneak only works on monsters that haven't been alerted, and I was attributing that to Shuffle and Tricky.
Marking it as solved! Sorry for wasting your time. |
