SHINING DEATH KNIGHTS
#1
You can Shine Knight and Death Knight at the same time for +15 to all stats.

Yes. It takes time to set up.

No, this isn't a fun and unique interaction, it shouldn't even happen.

Why shouldn't it happen?

Someone will probably post the same screenshot of the stats in game.

I'm half sure a truly crafty bastard (See: Me) could push that even further with the likes of Ki Awoken. Throw another 10 stats onto Spo's and you've got one pretty tough son of a shiny death knight.

Correct me if I'm wrong but shine knights takes 3 turns to get out. Death Knighting is 2 maybe 1 if you use high speed divine words but then you have to spend time casting that. You should probably explain what setup allows you to stand about for all that time without getting silenced, knocked down or killed because that seems like the real issue here.

And if your reasoning for why they shouldn't be able to be used together is simply they are strong the fix is simple. Just make them both main class only.

I think the main point is that you can get +15 in all stats with no drawbacks pretty easily by stacking them both in that way. +15 is a HUGE advantage to stats, and surviving a few turns while you proc a few buffs isn't exactly a challenge, when I ran MA/Verglas I could get Golden Glow, Woki, Ki Awoken, body of Isesip and ice point guard all active within the space of 2 turns, which is some substantial stat boosts and damage negation.

I'm correcting you because you're wrong.

Shine Knighting is not the same as Shine Knights. The former is a new potential skill for a sword. The latter is a spell for Priest that summons Shine Knight allies.

There was a joke a while back about transformations for the Magical series of weapons, and with that thought of adding more transformations beyond the sole one we've had so far, Death Knight, let's not focus on these two and simply apply something that should hold true from now, with them alone, and onward, in the case there are ever more transformations, which I hope there are.

We make them like Parry skills, which are passives, but the same logic can apply in an active fashion.

Quote:Transformation Spell (only one Transformation may be active.)

The only additional piece to add to this now is a matter of debate, and that's to add one of two rules to Transformation Spells:

Rule A:
Quote:Transformation Spells cannot be cast by someone with an active Transformation.
I don't like this, frankly. First of all, if you want to back out of Death Knighting because it turns out your opponent is running Holy or something, I think you should have that privilege. Not only that, but this prevents you from beginning your invocation to apply a new Transformation (or the same one again) as the last action of your current Transformation.

Rule B:
Quote:Transformation Spells override any active Transformations on the caster, on cast.
Not on Invocation, of course. I think this is is better for the opposite of what I just stated for Proposition A.

That's about all I have to suggest to fix this.

This mirrors my own thoughts on the subject. I see no good reason why someone shouldn't be able to invest 6-9 momentum to replace an effect on themself, but I see plenty of good reasons why people should be disallowed from stacking them. The only murky water I think exists here is whether to classify Ki Awoken as a transformation, but I don't want to branch too far off topic.
